CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 2
The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.
Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.
Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?
Keep turning the pages and find out.
[[Welcome to Week 2! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]
MONDAY
♫
While there's no immediate effects, it seems someone was inspired by a helpful comment or two. ]
Throughout the week characters will experience dreams or nightmares involving their wish. A dream where their wish is fulfilled, or a nightmare where everything seems to go wrong because it wasn’t. This can happen as many times a week as you want, and your character does not need to experience both.

[Suga isn't particularly interested in the new areas except in how they might provide clues to their escape... that is, until he finds the cache of gems and precious metals.
After hauling a sizable trove over to the workshop, he sets to work. If you enter the workshop you'll immediately notice a growing pile of jewelry on the table - ruby necklaces, pearl earrings, sapphire rings, the works.
Suga is absolutely a stress worker. These may not have any protective value at all, but they look beautiful, and that's worth something.]

I would ask how you're doing, but that seems somewhat redundant. It's good to know that you found materials you can work with, however.

investigation - kitchens
[ Huaisang decided that it was time to scrounge around and see if he could find something, last week's mistakes already a pipe dream. Not to mention, he couldn't sleep well due to the dreams.
So, he's going to check out the kitchens. This should be simple enough, however first he will start with investigating the mansion kitchens, trying to tiptoe in earlier in the morning so he didn't run into many other people. It was a heavy sacrifice he was making for sleep, but the important thing was that he was trying his best.
Now, to someone who had great powers of observation...would there be anything immediately notable about the mansion kitchen proper? Anything hidden behind the exotic ingredients? Some kind of secret compartment in the knifeblock, assuming there was one?
Any traces of salt despite the fact it's missing because Hamelin was at war with it? ]
Royal Archives
[ Huaisang could be found in here, surrounded by fantasy books, which were laid about him in quite a mess. It seemed last week's nonsense hadn't so much as deterred him from hanging around in here. ]
At least there's no shortage of reading material. Hey, maybe you should check this out?
[ He's holding up a cheesy adventure story that may double as kind of trashy (romance, cliches, you name it.) Just looking at it was clear to be a waste of time. ]
Tailor
[ So, there were new places available now, and of course Huaisang thought it'd be a great time to check them out. He was all over the Tailor room, fabrics in his hands. ]
Look at all of this! ...You know, I do wish there was a proper art room, but this will have to do for now.
[ As he's muttering to himself, looking at the fabric, he'll walk straight into the mannequin, knocking it right over. He'll quickly put aside the fabric and try to right it, pausing to look sheepish at whoever just entered. ]

Investigation
...hm.
For those who have heard Raven complain about how old and tired he is, it turns out he behaves a lot differently in the searing heat of the desert. He's a lot more energetic here, perfectly on display at the sparring area where he can be found swinging a wooden sword around like nobody's business. Looks like his profile was right: he's well-practiced enough to have it as a skill. He could do with some target practice instead, but this'll do.
Visitors will be waved down.]
Think ya can take ol' Raven?
[After blowing off some steam, Raven returns to exploring the new area. He eventually winds up at the cave where the thieves den is located. He moves carefully at first, but eventually winds up where all of the treasure is.]
I can't believe they didn't trap this place! [He muses aloud to anyone around as he digs through the treasure, putting on a gaudy crown for funsies.] Think we'll get cursed if we bring anything outta here?
[Hopefully not!
Anyway, while he's digging through the riches, he's going to investigate for anything peculiar or out of place. Is there anything to find here?]

Investigation - Theives Den
[ Okay, if the weird dreams weren't disorienting enough, the sudden setting change doesn't help. Norton is sure of it as he sees the lush forest give way to sandy desert. ]
What the hell...?

Investigation!~
So, after an obligatory stop at the bakery-because he's not going a day without having some sunflower seed bread-he'll be in the new area for most of the day. He'll make a stop at the thieves den, mainly to see what kind of things could be there, and...]
I've seen better.
[He's not impressed.
He'll also be visiting the tailor, looking over the various fabrics that are present. His eyes look to the shades of purple more often than not, and if anyone's paying attention, they may notice how he avoids looking at the yellows and anything teal.
Last stop is the apothecary because, really, another obvious place to search through as far as he's concerned. Looking through drawers, reading the various labeled containers of this and that, trying to find papers that could be significant, it's more or less the same as the dungeon last week. If there's anything hidden there, he will find it.

It's time to keep himself busy. He goes to the archives first, but looks through the shelves sort of absently. He isn't sure what he's looking for, and there's a melancholic expression as he browses idly.
He manages to find something--is he even really aware of what he's picked up...? It doesn't seem important--but instead of reading, he heads to the ballroom. He sits at the piano, running his fingers along the keys. He knows he should talk about things, but he can't bring himself to do that... He's not the only one suffering, after all. He's there for some time, just idly poking at the keys and humming to himself.
Eventually, he heads to the kitchens, because... yeah. He's pretty hungry. Riku isn't skilled in the kitchen at all, but he's got eggs and rice and ketchup out. He's, uh. Not sure where to start, though... ]
I'd give anything for Yamato-san's omurice right now... Or some of Mitsuki's pancakes...

Investigation
[If there's one thing Marcus is terrible at, it's saying no to Phil when he asks for a favor, and that's precisely why the morning finds him in the workshop, jacket and gloves tossed over a nearby chair as he works on making a... bird catapult. Look, this wasn't his idea, okay. He's just building this according to the specifications he was given! ... which happen to be sitting on the table nearby as he works.
Feel free to come by and check in on his progress/ask him what he's up to/steal the blueprints
(please don't do that)!]Sparring Area
[Later on in the afternoon, he's going to head out to the sparring area to take a look around and maybe investigate a bit while he's at it. Anything unusual amongst the weapons there?
He'll pick out a wooden sword and be practicing with it - it's clear he knows what he's doing when it comes to this, so a sparring partner would definitely be appreciated...
If he spots someone watching him, he'll wave them over with a grin.]
Feel like going a few rounds?
Archives
[That evening after dinner, he heads to the archives to put a few books back because they have already started to take over his and Phil's room and enough is enough. He's setting a couple back onto the shelves when a particular book catches his eye; intrigued, he snags it and settles into a chair to start reading.
And thus Marcus Grimm can be found reading a copy of Grimms' Fairy Tales and looking... decidedly less than impressed.]
