The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

I've seen some warped ideas of fun, but this is definitely at the top of the list.

Makin' our own fun now just doesn't feel all that good either.

[They had a party and then someone died like, right after. Total buzzkill.]

I wonder if Huaisang [that pronunciation is very "There Was An Attempt"] and the others will try it again.

[Yeager no it wasn't...

Raven shrugs in response to Yeager's musing. A couple of coins that had collected in the folds of his jacket slide off and clink into the treasure pile.]

Dunno, I haven't asked him yet. It was done ta get some bondin' happening, but it obviously didn't work as intended. I figured it wouldn't, but Huaisang is...persuasive, ta put it gently.

[He was absolutely pestered into helping.]

Oh, I'm certainly not surprised he pouted at you until you agreed to help.

[That's actually mostly because Huaisang gives off that impression instead of him just thinking Raven's a pushover. Huaisang is so much. It's hilarious.]

Just out of curiosity, are you planning on taking all the treasure with you when you leave?

[how much treasure did you shove into your outfit, raven!!!!!]

[Huaisang is absolutely so much. He's surprisingly good at steamrolling someone into just about anything.

As for the treasures...]

I have no idea what's givin' ya that impression!

[He says with his best innocent expression. It doesn't last long until he winks.]

Honestly? I don't plan on takin' anything right now. It's not like I can do anything with it, bein' stuck here an' all. I'm just screwin' around and seein' if there're any clues buried in here.

While it would be entertaining to see if there's a curse - or even just to see everyone argue about who's stealing it all - that does make the most sense, ja! Have you found anything interesting so far?

I suppose I can help, it's not like I have any other pressing matters to attend to~

[He will totally help investigate!! And by that I mean he's going to be over here accomplishing absolutely nothing because this is not his investigation and he does not get to find anything nice!!!]

[Honestly that was about as expected as it gets. And finding nothing cool is going to be exactly what Yeager deserves for it!!

Anyway, while they search for clues...]

So... What do you make of all this so far, Hamelin aside?

Hmm...

[He considers that for a moment as he continues to go through the treasure.]

It is a bit hard to ignore Hamelin, since it does seem like he's running the show. But Hamelin aside, this little setup certainly is interesting, isn't it? I wonder how much of what we've been told is the truth... We have no way to know if Hamelin is lying or not, and no way of knowing if all of this is his power or if there's more at play here.

But Hamelin aside... Well, we certainly are an odd collection of people, aren't we?

Oh, I ain't ignorin' him. He's just been talked ta death. [If only that were literal. Alas.] But you're right about how flimsy the premise is. He's given us the bare minimum in terms of how "real" this all is.

[He knew Zola's wish...but who's to say he would've ever actually granted it?

As for the group...]

No kiddin'. Not ta mention he managed ta nab some of us from the same worlds. I wonder if that was on purpose or some crazy coincidence.

[A nod at the first part! It'd be more believable if Hamelin had actually dangled something we wanted in our faces, but maybe he's saving that for later if we decide we aren't going to kill. As for the rest...]

I sincerely doubt it's just a coincidence. Considering how many worlds he likely had access to, why would he choose people from the same one? It also seems - from the profiles at least - that Tenn and Riku are on good terms, and if the "Phil" mentioned in Marcus' profile is the Phillip present here, then that's them as well. It is a little odd that three of us from Terca Lumireis would wind up here as well, ja?

It sounded to me like he chose us to bring here, so he likely thought we'd all either play his little game or that we would at least be interesting to watch. That's merely speculation, though!

Yeah, Marcus an' Phil are from the same world. Apparently Terca Lumireis is part of their world too, by some kinda...happenstance. [He literally has no idea how the fuck to relay what Phil told him.] You should ask 'em about it sometime for a real trip.

[But back to speculation.]

That said, I'm inclined ta agree with ya. 'specially when it's us specifically...

[There seems to be something behind those words that he's not sure if he wants to bring to the forefront just yet.

He opts to sigh and drape another necklace over his head.]

I guess he must find it particularly amusin' in our cases, pittin' our wishes against each other.

[The first part gets him to glance over and he's definitely making a face at it. Seriously, how the hell did Terca Lumireis get dragged into another world and their problems, don't we have enough to deal with?? (They're totally all Alexei's fault, shhhh.) But that is interesting and something he'll keep in mind.

The second part gets him to shake his head and he resumes searching around through the treasure. There sure are a lot of nice things here, but nothing that seems important...]

I imagine that's it. I wonder just how much they clash... I'm sure he wants us to entertain him, and those wishes certainly do seem like a good way to do it, ja?

[Not that the three of them really need an incentive to throw down, but here we are anyway.]

They're currently all he has to dangle over our heads fer murderin' purposes, so I'm guessin' that's his main angle.

As fer how much they clash...probably more than we might think, if he picked us fer a reason.

That's what I'm thinking as well. As far as I'm aware, we're the only trio from the same world. There likely is a reason behind that, even if the reason is simply "because Hamelin finds it funny".

Guess we'll just have to stick it to 'im by bein' as boring as humanly possible.
