CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 2
The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.
Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.
Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?
Keep turning the pages and find out.
[[Welcome to Week 2! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

[He does a few practice movements while McGillis tests the wooden sword.]
Guilds don't get protection from the Empire, so we gotta fend fer ourselves. Sometimes that means fendin' off monsters.

[ There are wild animals of course, but in modern society there is no real need to fend off lions on the daily. Or... ever, really. ]
I learned fencing largely for show, since it's fashionable. However, that doesn't mean I don't take it seriously.
[ McGillis is absolutely incapable of not putting his all into something he is attempting. And he'll get in position for a proper duel now. ]

[But with all those perks, Raven's sure that McGillis' world doesn't come without its own drawbacks... Still, it's nice to imagine!]
So you do swordplay for...fashion? [He sounds a little weirded out by it. Some people have interesting ideas of fashion.] Well, I guess now's a good time ta figure out how well yer pretty moves do in a real fight.
no subject
[ McGillis can buy that his world is objectively a lot better than some of the others here and he knows that with adequate wealth you can live in adequate life, but... he's not going to shill for it, not in its current state. ]
Let's go.
[ And McGillis is a pretty good fighter. His form is elegant and practiced, but he's not the kind of fighter who relies entirely on studied moves and is incapable of improvisation. His smile vanishes from his lips when they come to blow and there is a focused intensity in his eyes that is bordering on dangerous.
Still, it is clear that he does not do this on the daily, least of all to fend for his life. ]
