The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

[ Guess who's still hecked up over the weekend? This guy--

Riku makes a panicked, almost-strangled sound, freezing when he sees Yuri and Rika crowded around a prone Moriarty. ]

M-Moriarty-san?! Are you alright?!

[Rika is not nearly as panicked as her peers, since Moriarty is pretty clearly breathing. Didn't something like this happen at the trial too?

Looking from Moriarty to the fountain, Rika scoops a palmful of fountain water, and...]

Splish splash...

[Are the sound effects really necessary for splashing water on a man's face, Rika?]

[ Oh - is that the plan? Well, OK, more water from Yuri, too. ]

fine. not dead, still asleep, ish, but that will change soon because of the very helpful water alarm from rika nd yuri.

[Rika doesn't seem nearly as worried about the whole thing. He's awake now, isn't he, so it's probably not a problem.]

[ there is a bunch of teenagers fretting over william because he is a narcoleptic disaster of a houseplant.

but he's awake now that he's had a couple of moments to recover and-- why is the top of his shirt wet, that's probably fountain water--

the entire group of teenagers hassling him is going to get a sheepish, almost embarrassed laugh. ]

Ten fingers. [ that's more at yuri than the group at large but then ] I'm alright, I promise. It's something that happens rather often, actually.

Is it a strong case of the vapors, my lord?

[ Was he having a vapor fit?? Should she have whispered that instead,,, she knows it can be kind of embarrassing, oops. ]

[ blank look. is he pretending? is he not? who knows. ]

It's more because my body shuts down when I overexert myself...

[ he's trying to play it off like it's no big deal really ]

You pass out from overexerting yourself? That sounds like you need to eat more nutrients, yes...

Overexerting myself mentally, actually.

[ aka he thinks too hard and he passes out, whoops. ]

... If she asks him what he was thinking about, would he overexert himself thinking about it and pass out again? A conundrum... ]

Is there any way we can help now and in the future? If you had just been a step closer to the fountain, everything would not be all right.

[ koto's got them covered on the "being fed" front so not to worry at all in that case tbh

he's a delicate flower but he is not that delicate!!! ]

I can usually anticipate when it's coming, and there's about a 7.5 second lag between when I feel it and when I actually pass out, so if there's someone nearby during that time, I don't think it should be a problem...?

[ he sounds far too bemused about these teenagers being concerned for him but you know what he's just going to roll with it ]
