CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2

The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

Keep turning the pages and find out.

[[Welcome to Week 2! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.

In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

It's a nice melody. And the lyrics are...fitting. A good choice.

[ He can understand why he chose a song with those kind of lyrics. But he'll leave it at that for now so he can answer the question. ]

Not at all. I just wanted to make sure the clock tower hasn't somehow changed.

[ It's silly, but he couldn't shake the feeling from his chest that Hamelin would try something to stop them, even if it involved moving an entire clock tower. Growing paranoia is not fun. ]

Thank you.

[ He hopes that somewhere, somehow, the lyrics will reach Sami. He'll try to get off of the subject though so he doesn't get too vulnerable -- onto the clock tower it is. ]

How do you think it might've changed?

[ He'll continue the talk on the clock tower as normally as he can, quietly hoping she has found peace. ]

Suddenly not there at all, possible gone in an explosion, or maybe it became a completely different building.

[ It's said half in jest, but with how fairy tale this place is, sudden developments to impede them sound distressingly possible. ]

I guess he really could have that kind of power, but I don't know if he'd do that.

He'd want us to have as many locations accessible to us as possible, I think, for his fun and games.

That's another way to look at it. [ He has a point there. ] I'm probably just being extremely paranoid, so I'll just be glad to be wrong.

...Yeah.

[ A beat, then: ]

Hey, Nageki. Are you really okay with going up there by yourself?
libirdian: (reading books)

[personal profile] libirdian 2021-06-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ He stays quiet for a moment before replying with a calm, even tone of voice. ]

...I won't say I don't have any misgivings. But out of everybirdie here who can glide, I think I'm the most practical option.

I guess so. I think it'll be worth it, at least.

[ AS LONG AS HE MAKES IT OUT ALIVE...which he will, thankfully, dear god. ]

At least it'll be more info than we have before. And if there is something hostile, it'll be obvious when I immediately jump and glide away without notice.

[ rip his stamina tho ]
