The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

[ Completely understandable. It's been a rough weekend for most of them. ]

Mostly things like necklaces, anklets, and hat decorations. Nobirdie really wears anything on their wings.

[Hm, okay. Suga roots around in his pile for a bit before finding a pendant that he made adjustable for size. Most of his jewelry is designed to go on humans, but maybe this would work?]

[ That takes Nageki by surprise, since he took it as a standard "is that a thing birds do?" question. But he won't say anything about stopping since he does understand that stress making is a thing. ]

What kind is it?

True, it looks similar. My tie doesn't nearly have as nice a color though.

[Carefully, Suga loops the pendant over Nageki's neck, and adjusts it a little so it fits him better. It looks nice, he thinks!]

Thank you, Mister Suga. [ He appreciates the help since wings make clasps hard to work with. ] I hope I don't make it look weird. My plumage is pretty plain.

[He thinks? He's not sure what makes a bird good-looking, but he's sure Nageki probably is cute.]

That's a relief. What did you want in return?

[ Since it's not like he ever did fulfill his promise about the gems and all. ]

[If they don't have glowstone in a literal cache of gems, they just don't have it, it's fine.]

True, this place mysteriously doesn't need it... At least that's one less thing to keep track of. I worried a lot about it before.

[ He still wants to know how this place can actually keep running with just apparent fairy maintenance alone. ]

I don't hate that part
I get to eat a lot better than I do at home

That's good at least. It is nice to actually be able to eat again.

...Mostly seeds. [ Backpedaling--humans aren't all as observant as Miss Tosaka. ] What about you?

Cooking is pretty hard though. I wasn't really allowed to help much, but it does look pretty hard without instruction.

There's a lot to remember. I'm sure you'll be fine with practice, even if it's just one dish.
