The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

[The mechanism looks aged and rusty, with a wheel crank that looks to be attached to a gear system that seems to be connected to the rock wall on the opposite side. It still seems like it might work, but it's kind of hard to tell considering the cave isn't the most brightly lit space and some of the mechanism stretches fairly high up onto the ceiling.]

[ Too dark in a cave you say? Well, it's a good thing Norton came in with his hat.

Give him a moment to step outside the cave to take it off. He'll take out a match he'd swiped from the kitchen earlier to light the candle on the brim of that hat.

He didn't think he'd have to use it after that incident, but here we are.

After blowing out the match and putting his hat back on, he'll go back in to get a better look at that wall... Maybe he'll go ahead and try the crank? ]

[Norton truly living the prepared life. Anyways, with everything lit up decently now, it does seem like there isn't anything off about the mechanism on the wall. Norton would also have no trouble with starting up the crank, although it certainly hasn't been greased in a while if the groaning and shrieking of metal is anything to go by.

As the crank turns and the gears start to move, Norton will see that the rock wall on the opposite site starts to shift, moving to closer to the entrance. However, the crank just catches when about a third of the entrance is covered, leaving it and the stone wall stuck.]

[ Twenty years of mining experience and luck sure did come in handy.

A bit disappointing that the wall didn't open all the way, but... Hm. ]

Well, guess that explains the entrance...

[ Is there still enough room for a person to slip through the entrance? He doesn't wanna mess with the rusty crank again, last thing anyone needs is to be stuck in a cave with a broken door mechanism. ]

[Oh definitely, there's still plenty of room. The entrance is quite wide still, so there should be no problem getting out unless you're trying to get a wagon of treasure out or something.

Looking for anything else?]

[ Sure, let's see if there's anything else of interest near the entrance before we start exploring the cave itself. ]

[It's not so much the presence of something in this case than a lack of it. However, Norton may have noticed that as the stone wall moved, it tended to displace the dirt in its path, leaving some shallow lines of raised soil. However, the rest of the dirt in front of the entrance appears flat and even like the dirt hasn't been disturbed at all.]

[ What...? There should have been marks here if this door was once funtional...

Whelp. Better keep that image in the back of his head as he goes on down the passage. Anything to note as he goes in deeper? ]

[Nothing unusual, nope! It's not too long of a walk to the treasure area and there's no branching paths here, so he can probably note some things that Raven has also found previously if he isn't too enamored by the riches.]
