CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 2

The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.

Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.

Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?

Keep turning the pages and find out.

[[Welcome to Week 2! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.

In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

Never underestimate a flower, I say! They can be as deadly as they are beautiful - and resilient enough to bloom during the coldest winters.

[ So nothing wrong with picking flowers! ]

Lady Shii-chan sounds like the heroic type.

She is
She would always stand up for me when other kids picked on me
She was my hero

[And he repaid that by...]
gemuinemanagement: (for the other side's spine)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-13 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
She's alive
As far as I know
But I haven't seen her since we were 8
I won't ever see her again
sempiternel: (006)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-13 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
... And not just because we might not leave here? Is this related to when she saved you?
gemuinemanagement: (broken sweethearts)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-13 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[...He hesitates a long moment before writing an answer.]

The Kotori Obake makes promises with children
But you can't be made to keep the promise if you don't remember it
So her family erased her memories and took her far away
She'll never remember who I am
But she'll be safe
sempiternel: (049)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-13 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... ]

I'm so sorry. Remembering is painful - and if you're the only one who remembers, it's incredibly lonely, too.
gemuinemanagement: (let's join forces)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-13 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It is
But it's fine
It's my fault any of that happened
So it's only natural I should suffer for it
sempiternel: (099)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-13 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You were a child.
gemuinemanagement: (I was free then)

tw: suicidal ideation

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-13 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It's still my fault

[It's your fault. It's your fault. If you hadn't gone into the forest, if the promise hadn't been made-

It would be better if you just disappeared.

He's heard this a thousand times in a thousand voices. Yuri alone can't drown them out.]
sempiternel: (117)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-14 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
But where and when does that line of thinking end? You'll never punish yourself enough at that rate. Children are not meant to bear the burden of adults.
gemuinemanagement: (a herd of shepherds)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-14 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine
I've already accepted that I should suffer for the rest of my life

[That's the opposite of fine??]
sempiternel: (011)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-14 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
It is not fine! [ She's so angry about the misfortune and guilt that's followed him since childhood. Augh!! ] BUT.

[ She pauses, her frustrated expression softening into something sad and sympathetic. ]

But I do recognize that this guilt may be something you need to be able to carry on. If it helps you live the rest of your life...
gemuinemanagement: (now shush)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-14 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry
Thank you for listening to me

[He may not be able to believe her, but it helps to have someone to talk to, at least.]
sempiternel: (006)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-14 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
No... [ Contrite. ] I am sorry, too.
gemuinemanagement: (more sincere)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-14 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't do anything wrong

[So she has nothing to apologize for.]
sempiternel: (108)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-14 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[ Same, though! ]

I believe what we need right now is another moment of Sir Suga Appreciation Time. One nice thing about you from each of us. I'll start: You height is very nice because I know you will help me reach the highest shelves.
gemuinemanagement: (for the other side's spine)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-14 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
[?????]

Um
I'm good at making jewelry
sempiternel: (037)

[personal profile] sempiternel 2021-06-14 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you are!! So our list is at three, at least, and we will find more.
gemuinemanagement: (more sincere)

[personal profile] gemuinemanagement 2021-06-14 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
We don't have to
Please don't worry about me
