CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 2
The first chapter was over. The stakes and mechanics of the system you're in have been shown to their full extent, and regardless of how you feel about the Samidare and Zola's deaths, the story must go on.
Clean-up is done with a perfection that'd make you wonder if there ever was a murder on that rooftop in the residential district. Everything is spotless and repaired, making it look like nothing ever happened. If it wasn't for the absence of two people among your number, you'd think it had all been a bad dream. But it wasn't. The brutality of the incident and the execution make that plainly clear.
Now, with the opening of a new week, something else opens. Lands beyond the area you spent seven days in. What will the new week bring? Will it be another murder?
Keep turning the pages and find out.
[[Welcome to Week 2! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

That we are, literally, at a different point in the ongoing plot?
[ Unless he's asking about something specific? But she won't offer up any details of her own accord. ]
no subject
[ He frowns at her. ]
Most people don't consider themselves to be in some story's plot, and I doubt anyone's gotten that used to that bastard's game after just one week.
no subject
[ It's... a new sort of freedom to just be able to admit that. ]
But I'm not from Don Hamelin's plot. This and that are two different things, though similar enough that I can say I am used to something like this.
no subject
[ And frankly, he's starting to pity her here. ]
So you're saying you were stuck in a book or something before all this?
no subject
... Stuck implies I had a choice. But I was... [ She looks down at her hands, a tight smile on her face. ] Trapped. For a long, long time.
But I'm not now.
no subject
That's nice... But it's like you're out of the frying pan and in the fire.
[ He can guess what she'd kill for, now... It makes him weary. ]
Do you remember how you ended up trapped there in the first place?
no subject
Mmm, yes, it is quite hot here, isn't it? [ That's not what he means and she knows it. ] Be careful not to get heatstroke, my lord.
... Does it matter? It was so long ago.
no subject
It probably does, especially in a situation like this...
I won't hold what happened against you if that's what you're worried about.
no subject
Even if I did, it won't help us in this situation.
no subject
Well, now you have me curious. It's not every day you get stuck in a story, you know, so you being used to it is... Uh... Something.
no subject
no subject
[ He doesn't want to get used to it. It's scaring him a little. ]
... Why do you keep calling me that?
no subject
no subject
[ Should he tell her...? He's gonna tell her. ]
Interesting thing to call someone who's nowhere near nobility.
no subject
no subject
What?! So how did you end up becoming rich enough to be comfortable giving away your expensive jewelry?
[ He still has those earrings, by the way. Hidden away in his room somewhere. ]
no subject
That has nothing to do with being rich - [ She would have done the same if she were poor; he would have just gotten something worth a lot, lot less. ] But to answer your question: my father adopted me because I have some skill in magic. His is a barony of sorcerers is why.
no subject
I didn't know you were adopted... Guess he was looking for an heir?
