FINAL CHAPTER
Final Chapter
Like the secrets that spilled out into the open, the night sky above Aira Niluc also seems to be running free; whatever part of the land you find yourself in at night, you'll find that the night sky has been painted with shooting stars. Watching them brings a certain comfort, the feeling of chicken soup on a cold winter day, the nostalgia of meeting an old friend again, a warm fuzzy feeling from your core.
A boost to your spirits is likely welcome at this point, and it seems be the only thing Aira Niluc has to offer you at this as no new locations open up to you this week. There's a certain energy in the air, but not all of that can be blamed on the shooting stars, given the explosion that happened this weekend. For now the chasm in what was once the fountain remains impassable, but who knows when that will change?

I'm of the opinion that we should work with them if we can. Yuri-san has her reasons, but I know she's only trying to help. I don't know McGillis-san well enough to be able to vouch for him, but I'd prefer it if he would cooperate with us.

[Alexei leaves the meeting somewhat early, as he's been prone to doing with the gatherings nowadays; being among everyone too long has been making him feel prickly, and he'd rather not take it out on the group as a whole.
He's not really anywhere in particular for a while - probably his room - but he'll be back out in the sparring area eventually. He has Dein Nomos, and he seems to be intensely focused on running drills; he has to stop sometime, though, and if he's not actively doing anything he's leaning up against one of the racks at the edges of the area. He's talking to himself, quietly and in a way that's clearly intended for no one, but if you're close enough without him noticing you can likely hear him muttering something about how he should have prepared a second.]
[NIGHTFALL]
[When he returns to that same frigid, familiar town, it actually isn't to spend much time in the church this time. He certainly goes there, muttering vague, distracted apologies for being late to no one in particular, but for once he just lights the candles and leaves.
One more this time.
Otherwise, though… He's been avoiding them this entire time, but for now he finds himself seeking out those balls of flame that inhabit the place, finally just letting himself actually look at one to see what it's willing to show him. The night sky above is bright with falling stars but he doesn't seem to notice them, nor does he seem to notice the bitter cold that plagues the area; all that matters is the fire, and whenever it finally burns out it isn't long before he's seeking out another one.]

bonfire v2: return of the king
Yeager and Alexei having a great time tonight, actually. There have been no people harmed in the making of this bonfire, though the same cannot be said for the giant gummy bear, which is now melting on top of a beautifully-constructed throne. The whole thing is on fire, so maybe don't get too close to it.
You're welcome to come join the festivities(?) or come light some more things on fire, because apparently this is how things are going this week. Sometimes you just want to watch something burn.]

A while later, he has his lunch on the veranda of the animal café and by lunch I mean that he's eating a sandwich very slowly while tossing corn for the pheasants very intently. This is probably the happiest he's looked since before the trial.
In the afternoon, there is.... someone?? on onigashima. McGillis doesn't know anything about Japanese culture but he has understood that this might be a kind of masquerade event so why not bring his own mask? He is not as good at the shooting games as he wants to be, but that just seems to make him try harder...
And close to evening you can find him at the ruins of the Gelateria, fishing out a chess set from the rubble. ]

[ While Phil is spending most of his time in search of important information now that they're supposedly in the home stretch... there's a point where he remembers the cute little fairy clothes Yor had found at the tailor's shop weeks ago, and he ends up there for a while, looking through the drawers until he finds those tiny outfits in the bottom one.
He smiles to himself a little as he looks through them... and sets aside a few to potentially take back home if he can. ]

[ Well, yesterday it was posited that no one should stand in front of a mirror by themselves, so naturally, Phil is going to do just that today.
Back in room 5 yet again — which is kind of dead to him now, but he's here just because he doesn't really want to throw salt around his own room or Marcus's in case any of the books he has lying around make more ants happen — he's got some salt and a magnifying glass, and he's just going to quickly throw a pinch of it at the mirror and hold up a magnifying glass to it to see if that reveals anything. ]

And toward the end of the day, she can be found riding a horse through the ranch. Eventually, after the sun has set, she'll get off the horse, and start petting it.]

Up next he's out on the lake near the peach museum where he's... fishing up peaches? Yeah. He's just gathering a whole fuckton of peaches in this boat, humming to himself the whole time. He's fishing them out by way of spearing them on a stick he's sharpened, this whole thing is a disaster. Yeager's close enough to shore where you can wave him down if you want but this is an alarming amount of peaches...
You can find him in Onigashima next, where he's looking through the masks with a serious expression. If he notices you, he'll wave you over.]
Which one do you like more? [He holds up several of the oni masks, all of them really ugly and the sort that would terrify small children.] I can't decide which one I should choose!
[Finally, you can find him at the docks, where he's putting all of this together. He's fashioning sticks and smaller pieces of wood into some sort of horrifying thing and it looks like he got started on uh... something else?? It's difficult to tell what the hell this is supposed to be. Maybe it's a really shitty boat?? Anyway, he's left that alone for now and is working on whatever this masterpiece is. It looks horrifying and vaguely human-shaped. There is an oni mask strapped to its head(?). He's now attaching peaches to the monstrosity. I would say someone should stop him, but Yeager cannot be stopped. He's humming to himself while he works with a delighted grin, so you know this can only end well.]

There's a mat placed right in the widest area of the lodgings bedroom area, almost right by the staircase. On that mat there are donuts -- a dozen of them, forming a circle.

[So seeing as nothing matters and life is pointless and time is a flat circle, it follows somewhat that Alexei ends up at Onigashima eventually; he's got a couple of pitchers with him, and those pitchers are full of the pretty paper fish from the goldfish scooping. He's been doing this for a couple of goddamn hours now, just...catching a godawful amount of fish, and into the pitchers they go.
(It would probably be easier to catch the fish with the pitchers themselves, but he's got to have some degree of integrity.)
Either way, the fish are in the pitchers and then the pitchers are being brought down to the lake, and...the fish are being released into the water near the docks for the boats outside of the festival grounds.
He is likely just confusing them at best, and at worst releasing an invasive species into the lake, but either way, he's just going to stay and make sure they swim off.
...He's going to do this a few more times. Feel free to find him at any step of the process.]
[SPARRING GROUNDS]
[Alexei is still at the sparring grounds fairly late into the night, the shooting stars making their display above; he isn't watching them, however, his attention focused on his weapon. He's sharpening it, maintaining it - evidently he'd gone to town on one of the training targets he's made occasonally, because there's a fairly decent pile of splintered wood nearby. It's hard to tell if it was training or just taking frustration out on something that won't care if he kills it; either way, he's working in an intensely focused and deeply finicky sort of way, the sort of thing that also seems born out of frustration rather than any actual desire for productivity. Something to do with his hands, something where he can see the progress.
All of that aside, he's not opposed to conversation, you might just...have to get his attention first.]

But, Jack is dead (good riddance), and it's a tradition that she never minded. So, early in the morning, everyone will get invitations to a gathering in the lounge for a get-together.
Edelgard doesn't do much for prep, or decorations, but she does prepare several pots of tea, and a few plates full of pastries. She'll reach out to anyone interested in helping. She could use it.
Regardless, when people start to arrive, she will nod at them.]
...I don't think anyone's in the mood for a full party, but still, a get-together before the end of the week is a tradition that should be maintained in my opinion.
