FINAL CHAPTER

Final Chapter

Like the secrets that spilled out into the open, the night sky above Aira Niluc also seems to be running free; whatever part of the land you find yourself in at night, you'll find that the night sky has been painted with shooting stars. Watching them brings a certain comfort, the feeling of chicken soup on a cold winter day, the nostalgia of meeting an old friend again, a warm fuzzy feeling from your core.

A boost to your spirits is likely welcome at this point, and it seems be the only thing Aira Niluc has to offer you at this as no new locations open up to you this week. There's a certain energy in the air, but not all of that can be blamed on the shooting stars, given the explosion that happened this weekend. For now the chasm in what was once the fountain remains impassable, but who knows when that will change?

[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure through Wednesday of this week.

Also, please note the shop's discount on magnifying glasses! ]]

I am. I thought they might like that.

[As much as paper fish can like anything.]

I think it's nicer to see them here instead of in those tubs, anyway.

[ That's...a lot of fish he's scooping up, though, so: ]

Do you need help?

If you'd like. I wouldn't mind the company, at any rate.

Yeah, of course.

[ He'll grab one of the pitchers and start scooping some of the paper fish, too. ]

Did anyone tell you what this area is based off of, by the way? I believe it's a story from my own home -- Japan.

No, actually. Do you recall what it's about?

[He sounds legitimately interested in this?]

[personal profile] incompletely 2021-07-15 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I think it's based off of a story called Momotaro. That's the main character's name; he was born in a peach that was discovered floating down a river. He was found by a couple and became their son.

Momotaro grew up, and eventually ended up fighting oni -- demons -- alongside some animal friends he made.

[ So that probably explains a lot about this area, huh? ]

That's the gist of it.

...That's strangely precious.

[Listen, it is.]

We have some stories like that, where I'm from, mostly for small children. But ours are more based around the stars, and around various things present in our world that don't seem to be elsewhere. Some of them are about the Goddess and her descendants; some are things passed down from the ancients. Everyone knows the one about Brave Vesperia, the brightest star in our sky. It's been strange not seeing it since being here.
