FINAL INVESTIGATION
FINAL INVESTIGATION
Good morning and happy Friday. Despite the sense of the coming end, today starts off just like any other Friday in Aira Niluc, with a song finding its way to your ears. Normally this would be followed by an announcement, but there is only silence in it's wake.
The curious might be piqued to gather where what's becoming familiar by now, and they'll find that the fountain is completely drained, leading downward into a completely dark abyss. An emerald slide glitters, clearly an invitation of some sort, but it's probably not best to go down there until you're all prepared. Take stock of what you need, explore to find any other changes in the world, and then gather together.
The end has begun.

Since Yuri and I are here, we probably have little to fear going inside this place. But still, be on your guard.
no subject
Have you ever been inside?
no subject
His office has been there for the past two weeks, so if you've talked to him recently, you've been in there, too.
no subject
Hmmm. I wonder why he didn't move there from the start.

[ Makoto doesn't wonder at all, but keeps his eyes on the mansion. ]
Are we all ready, then?
no subject
[She hefts her axe onto her shoulder, as you do. There's a glint of something almost close to excitement in her eyes.]

Or it could be the furniture shop.
Exploring around to see what if anything has changed is important. Did anything change in here or can you move on?
Let's find out.
no subject
Well…this is it.
no subject
I always did think this was an odd thing to have here when we didn't have any buildings we needed to furnish, but...
[ Does anything look out of place as we go around and look at the furnishings on display? ]
no subject
Hey, you gotta admit it came in handy. But next time I get commissioned to build something like that, I'm gonna start charging a fee.
no subject
We're here!
[ And now time to piggyback off of Phil's ponderings. ]
It was probably for the plays, right? And fixing things?
no subject
In this case, yes, there's something off. Something does look out of place -- perhaps it's because of how it's all close to the end, but right now it's fairly easy to see something on one of the walls of the furniture shop:
The outline of a secret compartment. Thankfully, it was unlocked weeks ago. Inside it still looks as empty and slimy as usual, though.
Oh well. What a bust, huh? Guess this investigation ends here, thanks for coming...
...unless someone does something now, of course]
no subject
Do you think there’s something beyond this compartment?

Alexei, Yeager, Huaisang...
...welcome to Room 5.
At first glance it looks like something unknown and strange is happening...at least to Alexei, even though he sees exactly the same thing as his companions. It just is for Yeager and Huaisang it looks quite familiar:
The mirrors in this room are rippling and shining. Looks like it's adventure time!]
no subject
[Well, good to know that even though he shattered his, Alexei is not immune to mirror-based bullshit. He thought he got out of this unscathed, but no.
Are. Are we going full choose-your-own-adventure individually, or are we being kept together.]
no subject
Oh dear. Well, I'll be sure not to destroy anything this time!
[Probably. No guarantees if there are any more dolls with glowing things in their chests!!!!]
Let's be off, then~
no subject
[ Kind of. But it's okay, Huaisang's definitely not freaking out!!
... he's absolutely freaking out. But hey let's do this and let's go?? ]
no subject
.......]
.......
It's strange. There's nothing forcing anyone into the mirror this time. It feels like they have stepped through it by their own free will. It's also noteworthy that, after stepping through it, the mirror gateway is still there -- indicating they can turn around and leave at any point.
Huaisang and Yeager are already familiar with the gist of it, which is perhaps why those oddities stand out to them -- although there's also another one: they're themselves. Indisputably themselves. Alexei, not having experienced it himself, perhaps will find no difference.
The setting is...dreary. It's an attic of some sort. It's dusty, cobwebs decorate everything. Under the floorboards there's the noise of insects, but they don't seem to be numerous. Perhaps that's reassuring? On the other end of the attic there are many boxes, left abandoned and therefore ready for perusal. Above them, from the round window above it, moonlight filters even though the window shows nothing but a white expanse.
Your adventure has begun.
------
A: Check boxes
B: Look for pathways to follow
C: Flee and never return------
What will you do? All three taking the same action isn't necessary. Do what you will, explorers. There's no erroneous option.
no subject
Are there any windows other than the one above them? For that one, does it look like snow or is it the same sort of white expanse of nothingness Morgan found in the shrine investigation some time back?]
no subject
Is there anything in the first one he checks out? ]
