FINAL INVESTIGATION
FINAL INVESTIGATION
Good morning and happy Friday. Despite the sense of the coming end, today starts off just like any other Friday in Aira Niluc, with a song finding its way to your ears. Normally this would be followed by an announcement, but there is only silence in it's wake.
The curious might be piqued to gather where what's becoming familiar by now, and they'll find that the fountain is completely drained, leading downward into a completely dark abyss. An emerald slide glitters, clearly an invitation of some sort, but it's probably not best to go down there until you're all prepared. Take stock of what you need, explore to find any other changes in the world, and then gather together.
The end has begun.

Content Warning: Bugs
It feels like it extends forward and then curves into a U, leading into some place underneath the furniture shop. The end of the tunnel has a door, small and square. It's unlocked! And so, everyone can come in. Welcome!
This...is a place. From one glance everyone can tell it's a living room of some sort. There are no doors, but there's a window with some potted plants on the windowsill -- window that shows nothing but white. The thing, though...is that everything is bugs.
A console table to a side of the living room is made of stickbugs holding wooden panels, even forming drawers. A couch seems to be a very large beetle with its shell open and furnished with elegant cushions. To a side there's a bookshelf that's modelled after a cockroach, sturdy-looking and brown. A desk with a frame like caterpillars, large and imposing.
It could...be considered a eccentric taste, but, uh, everything is twitching. Alive. It's gross...and it looks like this is where you'll be for a while.
Time to get searching! Looks like there's enough places for all four people -- windowsill, couch, console table, bookshelf, desk.]

But uh, okay. He looks extremely grossed out and very tentative as he makes his way over to the desk.
What kinds of things are on the tabletop, first of all? ]
no subject
Right here on top of the desk there's what seems to be a strange, round mesh. It's as if someone took a globe and peeled it until only the underlying wires and stuff were left. Odd, that.
Other than that there's a piece of paper aside. There's also one large drawer, because beetles aren't known for having a lot of space for stashing stuff around in]
no subject
And he will grab the paper as well. What does it say? ]
no subject
The paper seems to be notes! And what fun notes they are.]
Tenn Kujo likes donuts and "omurice".
Riku Nanase likes "omurice" as well. Research omurice.
Phillip Biqe Reston likes chiffon cake.
C-ta likes hamburger steak.
Rika Furude likes "kimchi" and other spicy food
[And so on. Everyone is included in these notes. Curiously enough, Hamelin is there as well, but that was probably just for organization's sake than any other reason. Have everything on one place, you know.]
no subject
Butโฆwow, okay. Uh!!! Tenn squints at this list, but he will stuff it in his pocket.
Drawer time? ]
no subject
Lo and behold, Tenn. This drawer is full of curved pieces of...something. They're all modelled with clay, and are all quite colorful and charming, honestly. These pieces are sizable and are all lying here, carefully placed so they don't break. There are approximately a dozen of pieces here.
The one right on top of everything has what seems to be a desertic area with a cave full of riches.]

Okay but no, he'll... take the couch, he guesses, because that's not quite as gross as that bookshelf. No way is he touching that one, so have at it, Koto.
Let's look underneath and behind the couch first!]

So, what's in the book, hm?]

The Pied Piper of Hamelin:
The first part of the story reads as so, in what is clearly typeface written upon the book. ]
There once was a Pied Piper, named Hamelin, the don of famiglia Grimm, who lived in an estate with his three caporegimes: Scarlet. Hansel, and Gretel. Compared to the other familie, famiglia Grimm was never concerned with territory or power, but with mischief and merriment. The other familie often fell into conflict with one another but the Piper played the tune of peacemaker for his belief of peace and pacifism was steadfast and idyllic.
Though socialization amongst houses was frowned upon, the Piper found friendship in Robin Hood, the town's doctor. Their friendship was one that was genuine and true, and when the time came for Robin Hood to take a woman as his wife, all the familie gathered for an event they would not soon forget.

[ Unfortunately they must press on and keep searching... Koto will check out the bookshelf because she's not that bothered and can smash it if it moves or something. Do they have copies of Eclipse? Assuming it has books... ]

There's so many books on jello...
[ She'll want to take a look at the weird book first though, so she'll pull it off the shelf. Flipping through the pages, is there anything interesting? ]

Once upon a time there was a quaint town that was overseen by several families. The families shared the land and it's bounties equally and protected the townsfolk, as they were of the ruling class. The ruling class never aged and were immortal, and never experienced negative emotions such as boredom and sadness.
Everyone was happy. Everyone was happy, except for one. And that one, had a wish. He wished for change and for that he was willing to do anything. The end justifies the means, and he believed that change would bring greater happiness, even if it was at the cost of temporary discord.

And so slowly he began to push and pull at the relationships between the ruling class and planted seeds into their minds. The innovation of guns, jealously, anger, hate but it wasn't enough. There was one member of the ruling class who refused to buckle under the whispers and pressure, one who took pacifism as his tenet. No matter what he was offered or how he was prodded he was steadfast in his belief to maintain peace and to help others.
With ink to paper, the wisher rewrote what he desired.

He'll look at the console table, then. It sounds like these stickbugs are doing their best, he supports them. Is there anything on top of the table? ]
no subject
On top there's...a wreath! Or at least it looks like a wreath. It looks like it was carved on wood, and it's quite immaculately made. Most people would be jealous of the craftmanship, really!
At the same time, though, there's something that feels odd about this wreath. It's...a feeling Phil will get from looking at it. Doesn't seem like it's harmful, though]
no subject
no subject
Yup, looks like there was a reason Phil had such a feeling! From the wreath it feels like wood extends from it, like branches getting into the nothingness, passing through the walls of the living room. Even though it'd make sense for him to touch them, if he passes his hand through those branches he'll feel air. Looks like it's some sort of magic, and thankfully, being in middle of it all doesn't seem dangerous.]
no subject
He kind of wants to see if he can pick it up and follow the branches anywhere, but... he'll leave it there on the table for now so he can finish what he's looking at before he gets distracted.
Now, then, let's check drawer #1. Please excuse him, stick bug. ]
