EXECUTION V
Execution V
The end of this weekend's trial brought many questions and little answers, but like clockwork the time for execution comes like normal. The tune this Sunday has a more cheerful energy than usual, much like the piece that heralded the start of investigation.
It might not do much to change the mood though, given the two men standing in the sealed off space, in the middle of all the mirrors. Raven is there of course, and the man with him is someone else who else who was a fixture of yesterday's trial, Yeager.
EXECUTION

He lets out a hollow laugh, displaying a grin that doesn't reach his eyes.]
Figures it'd be you sendin' me ta my second death, eh Yeager?
no subject
[The kids who don't know how to kill or the ones who do and might hesitate. You can at least trust that he'll be efficient.
Yeager has his weapon with him, folded up neatly in briefcase form at the moment. But he also has something else - Raven's bow. He tosses it over, trusting that Raven will catch it.]
We never did get a chance to spar, you know. Let's put on one final show, shall we?
[Though he's smiling as he says it, the usual level of cheer is long gone.]
no subject
[He wouldn't want to subject the others to the most efficient way of killing him. If anyone here understands, it's Yeager.
His eyes widen in surprise when the bow comes sailing his way, but he does catch it with ease.]
Wait, seriously? Here, of all places? [Hm. Go out with a bang, right? He's used to that.] All right, you're on. But I ain't holdin' back.
[Why bother when he already knows the result, right?
So without any further delay, he reaches into his quiver and sends the first shot sailing Yeager's way. Better get that briefcase open quick.]

SPECTATING
no subject
He doesn't say anything; honestly, it's hard to tell how he's taking all of this. But he's here, and he's going to stay until it's over, regardless of what happens.]
no subject
It'll be the only time and the last time he'll get to see this. He'd better learn as much from Raven as he can in the man's final moments. ]
no subject
She doesn’t watch them execution directly, but she is definitely listening intently. ]

At least he knows there's a chance for another Raven to have what this one wished for. Maybe he already has it. ]

Even though this was the correct choice-- justice in the most technical sense of the word, it still feels wrong, and he can't get what Hamelin said out of his head.
He hates this.]
post-execution

Ah.
He pauses outside the door, giving himself a brief moment to collect himself before knocking lightly on the door to make his presence known, opening it lightly as he does so.]
Yeager. A moment of your time, if you would.
no subject
Make yourself at home, milord.
[There isn't really anything behind the words, though. He doesn't bother throwing a blanket back over the mirror like the other two in his room; Alexei's already seen anyway. He will get up up off the floor, at least.]
no subject
I wanted to say that I appreciate what you did for Raven. I don't know how much choice you had in the matter, but I imagine he preferred that it was you over anyone else here.

The logical part of him is saying not to peek, to not go anywhere near Yeager's door, but then he catches a glimpse of the man in the looking glass. That's...
...He's distracted, and Tenn shifts a little closer. In the process, he accidentally pushes the door open a little wider. Does this thing creak...... ]
no subject
You can come in, if you'd like.
[His weapon (and Raven's) are both on the bed out of reach, so at least Tenn isn't likely to get stabbed???]
no subject
well. Not yet, anyway. He sure is here though, staring at Yeager like a deer caught in headlights for about five seconds before his feet pull him forward, lightly pushing the door open as he steps in.
Then, he just. Stands by the doorway. He's just hanging out there in his comfort zone, right next to the door where he can bolt away if Yeager decides to come at him with his briefcase. Okay, deep breaths... ]
...
[ He keeps looking like he wants to say something, but nothing comes out. ]

Afterward, he makes a simple plate of a sandwich and some fresh fruit on the side, and brings it to Yeager's room. He knocks on the door to announce his presence, ajar as it is.]

So it's with that in mind that he steps into the room and just stands there quietly for a moment, collecting his thoughts before at last he speaks.]
... hey. I wanted to say thanks for believing me and Phil at the trial.
no subject
Oh, that? Ja, of course - the two of you are quite close, and I'd be surprised if either of you would be willing to hurt the other.
[Not that he can really imagine either of them killing for the wish in the first place given that it'd hurt the other, but this place has a way of making murder sound like a great idea.]
Though I can't pretend it's entirely because of that. I... had some suspicions about who was responsible at that point, and I wasn't suspecting either of you.
[He was definitely not right, but so it goes.]

Huaisang will come on by with a painting tucked underneath his arm, and then as his eyes fell upon the two people he can feel his mind go still for a moment as the familiarity of the second is easy to notice. ]
...Yeager, I hope I'm not intruding by dropping by.
[ The door is ajar, but you know!! ]
no subject
Yeager glances over when he hears a familiar voice, and he even manages a smile for Huaisang! Okay, it's sort of tired and not at all reaching his usual level of cheer, but an attempt was made even if it's a bad one.]
Come on in. Make yourself at home.
[There's no sense in covering the mirror, though the new addition to it likely is going to raise a few questions. He doesn't really mind at this point.]
