CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER 6
The dead now outnumber the living.
There's only one area that stayed a mystery until now. A new path revealed itself, leading to another town, surrounded by sturdy stone walls. Even from some distance away you can see the tower, rising high towards the skies. The path that leads to the city turns into gold before long, and the sky itself seems to take a beautiful tone, like it's painted with watercolors. It's such a peaceful-looking town, welcoming you with open gates. It must be nice to have another urban setting, after living in the same place for so long.
But no matter what you find it doesn't change the situation you're in. Now that your numbers are dwindling that's impossible to forget.
The story is nearing its end. There still are a handful of pages left. What will they bring?
[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST; this is the last week for murder proposals as week 7 is endgame. Also, please note the shop's discount on magnifying glasses! ]]

[ She's just going to sprinkle it on the gate's lock if Phil agrees. ]

[ They could try some more salt... or maybe they can climb over the fence? HMMM. ]
Was that not enough, do you think? Or should we use another means...?

[ She heard there's a sale?? ]
If that doesn't work we could always try... going over the fence maybe...
[ How high is the fence? Could they possibly do it?! ]

While they're talking a few brown mice poke out their noses between the fence, looking at Phil and Yuri. ]

Hello, little ones. [ She crouches down to talk to them. ] We're looking for a way in. Will you help?
no subject
...Yes, we would greatly appreciate it if you could.

[ She pets one gently on the head. Then to Phil: ]
Well, unless we can vault over safely, it seems our investigation ends here?
no subject
Hm... Well, that's disappointing.
[ And frustrating, because if he could use mirristry like normal he could just conjure up his own key for that lock. ]
I suppose the salt won't work on the fence bars themselves either...?
no subject
[ She sprinkles a little salt on one of the bars, careful to not get any on the mice. ]

[ Well, as long as you didn't break a magnifying glass for that... ]
...If we're really that eager to get over the fence, I suppose there's always the catapult as a last resort, but I think it would make sense to check this area for a normal stepladder first in case there's a simpler solution to this.
