CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER 6
The dead now outnumber the living.
There's only one area that stayed a mystery until now. A new path revealed itself, leading to another town, surrounded by sturdy stone walls. Even from some distance away you can see the tower, rising high towards the skies. The path that leads to the city turns into gold before long, and the sky itself seems to take a beautiful tone, like it's painted with watercolors. It's such a peaceful-looking town, welcoming you with open gates. It must be nice to have another urban setting, after living in the same place for so long.
But no matter what you find it doesn't change the situation you're in. Now that your numbers are dwindling that's impossible to forget.
The story is nearing its end. There still are a handful of pages left. What will they bring?
[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST; this is the last week for murder proposals as week 7 is endgame. Also, please note the shop's discount on magnifying glasses! ]]

And stares.
And stares a bit more for good measure.]
... a part of me wants to just go back to bed.
no subject
[At least this one is potentially useful. Maybe?? It's still too early for this.]
no subject
I'll clean it up later, after I've had some coffee.
no subject
We thought we should leave it in any case... We are boiling water though, so there should be some for coffee too?
no subject
[Is he trying to push the coffee brewing off onto someone else for once in his life? Maaaaayyyybe.]
no subject
[He doesn't seem to mind?? Just. We're going to assume there's at least coffee grounds and he's seen Makoto make coffee a few times... Jack will totally totter over to the coffee machine and then start prodding industriously at it with the air of somebody who may or may not know what he's doing.
I know I said there's coffee grounds but between the pre-modern machine and filters he is totally going to forget the coffee grounds.]
no subject
[... oh god he just made a terrible decision here, didn't he. But hey, at least he gets free entertainment out of it? And undrinkable coffee, but shhhh.]
no subject
Lonely and sad grounds. This coffee is going to be so sad because he dumps in the grounds late and so Marcus may or may not be getting alarmingly watery coffee but maybe it’s recognizable as coffee???? I don’t know what you expected.]
This has so many more steps than tea… I imagine it is worth it, but black coffee…
[Black coffee just sounds like a punishment but that appears to be Marcus’ life anyways.]
no subject
I'm guessing you're not a coffee person.
no subject
[He might just drop too much milk and sugar in it first, he really does lean to the sweet and mild side of things. And also he usually just does not make the thing. At least tea is just leaves and water!!
That being said Marcus is too kind…… RIP in pseudo-coffee my dude.]
Do let me know if we should make another pot.
DW I swear to god
THANKS JACK you're a bro... he really does appreciate the effort.]
Thanks, but this should do it for now. Unless there's more I need to clean up than just that frosting over there...
prods DW with a large stick
Jack brightens even though he is probably at least half-aware that he kinda fucked up that pot but. It looked like coffee?? Ish.]
Well, I think that is all... though Nie Huaisang seems rather peckish this fine morning? [how fine is it, really] If we can hold out until Makoto appears, perhaps we can -- take care of both things? He is the coffee expert, after all...
[Let's not use the two birds with one stone analogy, that seems mildly awkward after last weekend.]
no subject
Pawning off coffee-making duties onto Makoto? Sounds like a plan to me. I'm in, as long as I get to pass the cleaning to him too.
[Now he does take that sip and... ah. Well. Hm.
It's... liquid, at least? And he thinks there's probably at least a modicum of caffeine in there...]
no subject
They are both doing their best of some kind here.]
Well, we do need to wait on the cleaning, so whoever sees it last can be the one to clean.
[...... or it can just wait until tomorrow morning. Who knows.]

Oh, Marcus, there's something I need help with making later...

Assuming all you want is a plain wooden one, that is.
no subject
[ The one time he's not going to be picky about the how, as long as it can work... ]
I'll grab some books from the archives, as I believe there were some in there that could help, and then I'll meet you in the workshop with them?
no subject
[Because that is the most important part!!]
no subject
[ He will get his tea, and leave Marcus to his coffee for now...
And uh, that mess to clean up nobody else wants to take care of. Thanks for helping out Marcus! ]
