CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER 6
The dead now outnumber the living.
There's only one area that stayed a mystery until now. A new path revealed itself, leading to another town, surrounded by sturdy stone walls. Even from some distance away you can see the tower, rising high towards the skies. The path that leads to the city turns into gold before long, and the sky itself seems to take a beautiful tone, like it's painted with watercolors. It's such a peaceful-looking town, welcoming you with open gates. It must be nice to have another urban setting, after living in the same place for so long.
But no matter what you find it doesn't change the situation you're in. Now that your numbers are dwindling that's impossible to forget.
The story is nearing its end. There still are a handful of pages left. What will they bring?
[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.

Pawning off coffee-making duties onto Makoto? Sounds like a plan to me. I'm in, as long as I get to pass the cleaning to him too.
[Now he does take that sip and... ah. Well. Hm.
It's... liquid, at least? And he thinks there's probably at least a modicum of caffeine in there...]

They are both doing their best of some kind here.]
Well, we do need to wait on the cleaning, so whoever sees it last can be the one to clean.
[...... or it can just wait until tomorrow morning. Who knows.]

Good morning...
[ He brought his own beans with him and he starts setting up the filters and the coffee mill to grind them. Because no way is he tasting whatever that first pot is supposed to be. Politely directed at the both of them (and anyone else within earshot really) -- ]
Would you guys like a cup?

[Sorry, Jack, but if given the option between good coffee and... that, whatever it happens to be, he's going to have to go with the good coffee. (It's nothing personal, but this is one case where the thought alone will not be quite enough...)
YOU FEEL HIM, MAKOTO. He is counting on you here...!]
no subject
As long as we count Marcus' hair in his height, anyway. There's a small wave from back there.]
A-ha, don't mind me, I've tea to tide me over. It's good to see you, Makoto! We were just debating what to do with the rest of breakfast...
[At least he doesn't seem particularly offended that they are all just going to pretend the last pot of coffee didn't exist.]

[ Makoto isn't going to be harsh about it now that good coffee is on the horizon. At least Jack tried. His own movements with the mill, the filters, and the heated water still have that practiced ease, even if he's still a little tired. If anyone knows enough to appreciate the little things, he pre-wets the filters, is careful to let the coffee bloom before pouring all of the needed water in. Unlike the first one, this coffee puts the smell pleasantly in the air as it brews.
And it's not long before there is a new pot of much darker coffee by the first. He's made enough for everyone, but pours Marcus a mug first before his own. ]
There you go. Let me know how it is.
[ His gaze shifts to Jack, if he's stuck around through the process, after a sip of his black coffee and a sigh-- ] Are you sure you don't want to at least try it? I could teach you how sometime, you know.
