After a party with many festivities and particularly eye catching attractions, many will have retired for the night before sleep takes them. It's a blessing even if this is routine by now, because after everything you've been through, dying from frostbite would be an anti-climatic way to go.

By the time you wake the sun is fully in the sky, it's light serving as your guide for the events that happened the night before.

The time is 8:00 AM.

[He's going to rush out and probably not even do more than glance at the body reports -- there's so much going on here, but Jack heads for the areas of interest without much preamble. He will... come back to the bodies later, since that looks handled, but.]

[Well, why would any of this happen at all. Still, considering Nageki went out in a blaze of grenades and everything, this is the first time one of their actual birds have been targeted -- so it's a little incomprehensible in its own way. He's just going to sort of. Drift his way over by the fountain while mumbling to himself.

Is there anything like very strange at first glance.]

[ Sure is! Did you want blood splatter to start your morning off? It's not a tremendous amount granted, but since it is red it does stick out. ]

[What on earth did the fountain do to deserve being defiled yet again. He's just going to like, pause and stare at it for a bit -- is there any particular shape, size or position to it? Is it on the fountain or in the fountain or what have you.]

[ The blood is in a clear line (width wise) in several places on the fountain itself. ]

[How wide is this line? And what does this blood... trail? Line? Look like exactly, does it look like someone just dripped blood all over the fountain in a directional way or something...? (would a diagram help here, visualizing this is confusing)

Also, what's the status of the blood, how old or dry is it... Has it come into contact with the water? Is the water pink?]

[This blood drops certainly don't look round enough to be someone drippling blood all over the fountain! If Jack has enough knowledge, perhaps he'd figure out you'd need speed to achieve this sort of elongation. Like so, or maybe more elongated than this, but you get the gist.

The water isn't pink. Looks like it didn't come in contact with the water -- or, if it did, it didn't affect anything at all. As for freshness...it looks as fresh as the rest of the blood on the scene. Starting to dry up after several hours of being in the open, but generally recognizable as fresh blood]

[Hmmm, well, it's probably not hard to work out that somebody was running while bleeding or something? Given what Tenn found, looks like Morgan had some kind of fight or at least flight going on with her attacker...

Does this blood lead anywhere else besides back to the lodgings? Does it go beyond the fountain, or does it look more like the bleeding started around here?]

[Perhaps...given Jack's swordsmanship background, perhaps he'd be able to picture it better as blood dripping from a sword that was swung. Splat.

This blood in particular doesn't lead anywhere! There's only that blood to the lodgings and this dripping here on the fountain]

[Hmm! Is it specifically recognizable as a sword or other long-bladed weapon, or does it just look like splatter from a blade being swung? Jack may have a background in swords but I do not so can you tell anything in particular about the weapon from this........

Also, does it look like all the blood at the fountain is accounted for by these speed/swing drops?]

[ The latter! It's feasibly from a blade, but what blade it was cannot be pinpointed from just examining this blood. All the blood at the fountain (it is not an overly large amount) is accounted for with this particular pattern as well. ]

[Gotcha! Well, at least his expertise with something is useful for something, truly amazing. Is there anything else notable around the fountain or its surrounding area?

If he looks up at the sky there isn't anything weird there, is there, given both victims' flying background.]

There's also several gouges in the fountain, that he can take a look at. ]

[For once he doesn't have sunglasses on so he'll just stare at the clouds instead!! It's fine!! We'll assume that nobody has written the murderer's name(s) up there, though, so...

Anyway, what. WHAT DID YOU GUYS DO TO THIS FOUNTAIN. GUYS. Where are these gouges on the fountain? Is there some way to tell roughly what made them...?]

The gouges aren't particularly uniform, and they're pretty spaced out along the fountain too. As far as specifics, it would have to be something sharp to nick the fountain. ]

[What!! Why is the meta judging him when he is making a perfectly reasonable investigative decision???

Okay, so, something sharp -- but when you say not uniform, is that referring to the width of the gouges or the space between them? Is it possible to tell the approximate size of what made them? Also, what are the characteristics of these gouges -- does it seem like it was some kind of blade, claws, something wider, or...? Are they parallel to each other or in random directions? And are they on the side of the fountain or across its face?

Or I guess, does it look like anything he might have seen before?]

[It's time to answer a myriad of questions. Let's do our best!

*Not uniform as in the space between them.
*Can't tell approximate size but it does seem like some kind of blade made these.
*Random directions
*They're more on the corner of the fountain instead of on a wall or on top of anything. Sometimes there may be a stray gouge somewhere else like on the side, but in general they're in the outmost corners.
*Probably doesn't look like anything specific he has seen before.]

Okay, so looks like the signs of a fight maybe.... is there any blood or anything else inside the gouges or any other strange or noticeable things about them? I assume it looks like the fountain was struck and these were impact gouges rather than somebody like, deliberately decorating the fountain. He'll try to examine them as closely as possible just in case.

Also, are they on the same side as the blood or close to the blood? How high up on the fountain do these go? Just the base or does it hit the central fixture too? Just covering our attempt at spatial coordination here I'm sorry for the million questions......

And, do they all look like they were made by the same thing?]

[ No signs of blood or anything else inside the gauges. They are on the same side of the fountain as the blood, though. As far as height goes, they hit the base and not the central fixture. Finally, they look like they could all be made from the same object, yes. ]

[Well, that's about all I've got for this! Unless there's anything else going on with this fountain.

Oh, one last thing. He's just going to... climb onto the fountain rim and jump up and down a few times like some kind of ridiculous jackrabbit trying to see if there's anything hidden in the central fixture? You never know??
