After a party with many festivities and particularly eye catching attractions, many will have retired for the night before sleep takes them. It's a blessing even if this is routine by now, because after everything you've been through, dying from frostbite would be an anti-climatic way to go.

By the time you wake the sun is fully in the sky, it's light serving as your guide for the events that happened the night before.

The time is 8:00 AM.

[ He will head from the archives to peer into the ice maze area as much as he hates it. ]

[ Good morning world. McGillis is still in a bad mood, but he is also alive and in the lodgings, so he'll pass by the lounge and kitchen there and see if anyone has decided to die in there. ]

[At least we're not being woken up at ungodly o'clock again!! Anyway, assuming McGillis doesn't find anything in the immediate vicinity of the lodgings that would stop him, Yeager's heading out to check out the general store. Might as well get that one out of the way!!]

[Well, looks like it's your lucky day McGillis, because as he goes down to check out the kitchens, he might notice a large black cloth draped over something near the entrance of the lodgings.

There's also a pool of blood under it, like, as a treat.]

[Yeah, Marcus is definitely being reminded of why he's been glad not to be sleeping on the floor anymore.

... he's, uh, also hoping that the other participants in the slumber party are still in here with him, though...]

[ Well. It's not as though McGillis expected this day to go well, after all these weeks of precedent.

He only pauses briefly, sighs very deeply and moves forward to lift the cloth just a little. Can he identify who or what is under there? ]

...Oh dear. Well, if you need a hand, I suppose I can help.

[ Yeah, he's good, he's a big boy and can lift cloth on his own. After that... we will see. ]

[ NHS jaunt from the archives is uneventful, at least until he gets to the fountain area. There sure is something going on here but no bodies at least...?

Is NHS gonna keep going to the ice maze anyway? ]

[ Everyone is there! Also with lovely braids in their hair, y/y. ]

[ Phil just kind of whacks him in the face with an arm as he rolls over and stretches. ]

[ And then he's just going to lean over him to check the floor in front of the door and glance back toward the others. ]

[YYY, Yuri even managed to make his hair look pretty! He's just gonna try to nudge Phil awake so he can get up and stop being a pillow, then.]

[ The door and all of his planning is as Phil left it. Careful not to tip over the glass of water with your other arm though! ]

[But he knows exactly what Phil is doing and is just going to hold still while he does so in order to not get in the way.]

[Y but y'all at least show off your pretty tresses. Jack at some point last night ended up in this and is currently mumbling about bookmarks.

But probably like, literal, because he has them on his face from sleeping on the local library.]

[ Carefully gathers up his receipts and drops them into a vanity drawer!!

And then accidentally knocks over the water with his foot afterward because who are we kidding. RIP Marcus ]

[Well, thankfully for McGillis, it really doesn't take much to determine who this is considering their distinctive appearance is laid bare before him. In contrast with how otherworldly they seem, the pool of dried blood seeping out from underneath their back speaks to their now-mortal nature, as the wound on their chest stands out clearly against the background of their pale skin even when stuck under the shade of the cloth. Even from a glance, it's also apparent that they weren't left unscathed elsewhere either--various grazes and nicks mar their appearance, and the once-elegant wings that spread out from under their back now look ragged and unseemly. Half-lidded eyes gaze up at nothing but the darkness of the cloth above them.

Distant though they may have been, it's clear now that they've moved even further from the rest of you towards a place that none of you can truly reach. Isn't it ironic then, that the reasons for both were because of a wound to the heart?

[ On his way to the workshop, NHS might spot something small on the road right outside the clocktower. But fret not, perhaps it is just more burnt marshmallow crimes? ]
