Almost half of the non-fairy population of Aira Niluc is gone.

Some may be feeling the absence of their fellow participants in this story. Others will stay focused on the wish they want to get. What never changes is that the story goes on, bringing you closer to the end -- and to another chapter. What will it bring this time?

Snow!

Snow as far as the eye can see, a cold blanket covering the new area. Some winter amenities are now available, ready for perusal! But that's not all there's to find: everyone also will find reminders of their homes, of people they know, of happier times.

[While he may be doing this in clothing that's far less...egregious than usual (the full uniform is a bit much for a gathering this casual), it's questionable how much eyecandy he's providing; that said, if you've ever wanted to watch someone split wood with a large JRPG sword then this is where you want to be. Can swords actually fell full-bodied trees, absolutely not; can they actually split wood? ...Well, that depends on how much force you're willing to put behind one, and judging from last night he's got a lot to work out. That said, while he's looking pretty severe in doing it, he's seeming...fairly okay? Like he's infinitely more content to take this out on something that won't care if he destroys it, anyway. Once in a while he'll wander off from the bonfire itself to break down some more wood down for the sake of keeping the blaze going.

Otherwise, he's...here, though it seems that he hasn't really gotten that much more outgoing at parties; he's near enough to the fire to keep warm, but he seems rather content to stay by the edges rather than with the group proper. While he seems fairly quiet compared to, say, the party at the bar a couple of weeks ago, that doesn't mean he's entirely opposed to company; he wouldn't be here if he was, honestly.]

It's a good day for all of this; I think it's safe to say several of us have needed it.

[That aside, he leaves once as evening falls, tending to the votives in the church; he isn't gone for too long, in the scheme of things, but it helps to keep his head clear.]

Agreed. It’s the most peace I’ve found in a while, personally.

[ He has a little smile on his face, eyes meeting Alexei’s. ]

Of course.

[He's hardly going to tell you what you can and cannot do at a gathering, Tenn...]

I don't know if I'd say I'm finding peace in it, but at the very least it's helping to clear my head a bit.

[ Morgan presses into the church with the same idea, it seems – not so much the votive tending, but the clearing of the head, absolutely. She coughs just so he knows she's there, as she approaches the rows of candles. ]

Are these for the others?

[ Not the ones here, she means. ]

They are. It...helps, having some way to remember them; I understand that the implication is that they aren't fully gone, but still.

[It helps anyway, for reasons he can't really place.]

[ She nods, her wings shifting slightly behind her. ]

I think it's a good idea, even if they're not as gone as one would think. To make sure they're not forgotten. I believe Tenn has been making some snowmen with the same idea in mind.

Is that what he's been doing with those...

[He's sort of been wondering.]

I honestly didn't know what else to do; this was something that Huaisang suggested, and it seemed as good as anything else.

There's only so much we can do here. I'm sure they would appreciate being remembered, at the very least.

[ She purses her lips. ]

I would just rather there be something more we can do. I don't like sitting here powerless, like this.

Likewise. Though the only option we have that may be close at hand is asking Hamelin for an intercession, assuming he would permit us to use a wish on that. Even so, that seems more insulting than anything, and involves trust that frankly hasn't been earned.

I doubt it would be that easy. [ Not that killing and avoiding getting caught is easy, but like. Relatively speaking. ] He said it himself at the beginning that the wishes would only be granted at the end of all of this. And given what happened to Nageki...

I don't expect anything about this to be easy, bluntly put. That said, we've already lost so many here...

[He doesn't finish wherever he was going with that; this whole thing seems to be a lot.]

...I noticed that your hand seems to be better.

[ She nods, letting him change the subject. She holds up the fingernail-less appendage in question, looking at the banding on her fingers. ]

... I figured it would be best not to let it incapacitate me any further than it already has, in the event something happens tonight.

[ and look where it got her! ]

[alas, poor morgan.]

That seems for the best. Hopefully it won't come up during any trial that may ensue, but I'll be sure to mention it if it does.

[ smfh ]

I appreciate it. I would rather it not create any unnecessary problems, with as close as things have been as of late.

[ looks to tomorrow and sweats ]

[Ah. Memorial candles, huh...

Suga clasps his hands together and bows his head. He's not one to pray often, even in the position he's in, but this seems as good a time as any for it.]

[Alexei really isn't one for prayer either, though he does have his head bowed and Dein Nomos out, hands resting folded on top of the pommel; it's the closest thing to a holy artifact that he owns. He's saying...something to himself, though it's hard to say whether it's to the dead or to the Goddess herself.

Maybe it's both. It's hard to say.

He'll stop eventually - he really doesn't mean to be gone long - but then he notices that he isn't alone.]

I've been coming here daily since this area was made available to us. I'm not a religious person, but I wanted to do something for them.

It's good to be thought of I hope, wherever they are That they're not in pain, at least

I feel as though this isn't enough, but I'm also accepting for now that nothing is going to be enough for me to not feel that way.

I have that same feeling I'm sure other people feel similarly I tried to send a letter back last week I left it in the fountain, since that's where we first found their notes

There are a few from home that I would have wanted to write to after they passed, though not for the same reason. I understand the desire to, at any rate.

I hope so I was disappointed not to get an answer But thinking back on it If he actually had answered and everyone at the meeting saw it That would be really embarrassing?
