CHAPTER 5
CHAPTER 5
Almost half of the non-fairy population of Aira Niluc is gone.
Some may be feeling the absence of their fellow participants in this story. Others will stay focused on the wish they want to get. What never changes is that the story goes on, bringing you closer to the end -- and to another chapter. What will it bring this time?
Snow!
Snow as far as the eye can see, a cold blanket covering the new area. Some winter amenities are now available, ready for perusal! But that's not all there's to find: everyone also will find reminders of their homes, of people they know, of happier times.
Of their wishes.
Who will try to reach their wish this time?
[[Welcome to Week 5! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

I wouldn't look for too long.
[ She stands far back enough to where she can't see her own distorted reflection in the stained glass. No sense in getting riled up again. She's already hurt one hand in the process. ]

[ Oh, he didn't realize anyone else was standing there... ]
Y-yes, I suppose you're right. I'm sure this was intended to make us more willing to play his game, after all.
[ He does manage to tear himself away from the window, at least... though it helps that the image is nearly gone already, seemingly lost among the cracks.
Anyway, he takes note of Morgan's apparent injury once he's facing her properly, though it looks like she kept whatever that was under control, thankfully. Oof... maybe that warning was coming from firsthand (no pun intended) experience. ]
You hurt yourself? Is that related?

I was caught off guard by the apparitions and let my temper get the best of me. I... wouldn't particularly recommend it.
[ Especially since, like. Knowing Phil, he would punch the window and then he'd be the one to shatter. ]
I agree that it's just another way to try to encourage someone to make a move. It seems rather... heavy handed, this time around.
no subject
That is a very valid assessment of his punching capabilities. ]
Ah... I'm sorry, that must have been especially unpleasant for you.
[ At least everyone he's seeing just makes him kind of sad. ]
This certainly seems to be getting more of a rise out of everyone than whatever he did in previous weeks... and you're right that it's much less subtle. Maybe he's wanting to hurry things along to a conclusion at this point.

She nods at the sympathy. Unpleasant doesn't generally begin to cover it. ]
That seems likely. [ She tilts her head slightly. ] It seems strange, given that he seemed willing to let this play out as long as it needed to, whatever arbitrary standard it is. I wonder if something changed.

[ It's only been two weeks, but it feels like it's been so much longer. ]
He seemed content with playing the villain from when I spoke to him last week, but I wonder if that's changing, the longer this goes on.
