CHAPTER 5
CHAPTER 5
Almost half of the non-fairy population of Aira Niluc is gone.
Some may be feeling the absence of their fellow participants in this story. Others will stay focused on the wish they want to get. What never changes is that the story goes on, bringing you closer to the end -- and to another chapter. What will it bring this time?
Snow!
Snow as far as the eye can see, a cold blanket covering the new area. Some winter amenities are now available, ready for perusal! But that's not all there's to find: everyone also will find reminders of their homes, of people they know, of happier times.
Of their wishes.
Who will try to reach their wish this time?
[[Welcome to Week 5! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

While Yeager is still searching for the way out, from time to time he'll see kids. Thankfully they're not on his path, but they're beyond the walls, obscured by the ice and the jeering decorations. There's no reason to think they're any more corporeal than the girl he saw, though, and the kids don't see each other. All of them have two things in common, though:
One, the oldest he'll find looks about sixteen years old.
Two, they all look just as miserable and afraid as that girl.
When he reaches the forest area he still sees the kids, but it's different, though. They look far happier. Once again he's not finding anyone in his path, it's all through the ice walls, but they really are still running around, looking like normal kids playing around, still without seeing each other.
What a happy maze this is]

Probably would see more and more if he goes deeper into the maze again]

But yeah, of course he's going to keep looking!! How are those kids doing, by the way - are they still acting about the same as before? And none of them have any significant items, right?]
no subject
It seems most of the kids don't have any distinctive items, but indeed! They're acting the same than before. The girl with the lantern is among them, holding it and looking quite happy. She even has toys with her.
Now that Yeager's taking a closer look at the kids, though...he'll notice that, from time to time, kids that aren't human can be seen. They're rare but they appear from time to time, among them a kid with the head of a frog and another with fairy wings -- she seems to be one kid more and looks nothing like the fairies Yeager has seen for a month or so already. Neat!]

Huh, so there are more than just human ghost-kids here... At least the little girl with the lantern looks happy now!! None of the toys look familiar either, I'm guessing?
If there's nothing else noteworthy about the kids (human or otherwise), he'll head further in to the creepy eldritch-esque section of the maze!! Are there any more sad kids still hanging out in here, or have they moved on to join their friends?]
no subject
Ah, there's the kids! Looks like they're the same ones from the forest section -- just that in these illusions they're absolutely miserable. They do vanish around, presumably running into other sections of the eldritch area, if the girl Yeager saw in the middle of the way was any indication they're going all over the place]

...
Scratch that. There's something.
Among the many eldritch carvings on the ice, there's one that's hard to see and probably wouldn't have any significance to most people, but to Yeager perhaps will.
It's a hand. A very inhuman looking hand, with long fingers ending in sharp tips. It's only one single of those among the myriad of carvings on the ice in the eldritch section, but it's hard not to unsee it]

Does it mean anything? Who knows. But that Yeager of all people is the one seeing it...perhaps that's not as much of a coincidence as it may seem at first glance]

Well done, Yeager, you're a trooper, yup]
