TRIAL IV

Trial IV

The story presses onward as you gather in this now familiar "courtroom" to deliberate the deaths of two more of your number. By now there's more space for everyone with the population dwindling down to twenty, and by this weekend's end it will dip ever further. But maybe in a time like this more space is needed, though one most always be mindful of the clock.

Adora and Norton Campbell are dead, and the price must be repaid.

[OOC NOTE: Please keep in mind the only mod run checks are those that directly involve a piece of evidence found during the investigation. Those checks that involve player participation will rely on each player's willingless to partake in the check, for the sake of keeping IC choices intact]

I would say if you can cook, baking at an amateur level would not be all that much harder.

I agree, just clarifying the criteria.

Is this amateur level baking though
Even if you follow a recipe
I'd expect a novice's cookies to be lumpy at least?

... This feels like splitting hairs, to be perfectly honest.

He is not wrong.

[Baking is a form of chemistry in some ways and yeah it is difficult. Listen to the chemist here.]

...then...there's no way to tell who the culprit is? Checking for wounds, clothing, and baking skills won't help, so...are we going to have to give up and guess?

No, I still think baking skills are a good start - mostly because they would have to have at least a similar skill level to Yuri, such that we could point fingers at her reasonably quickly.

I've only had yours so far.

True... and if they were trying to frame her specifically, they had to be confident enough in their ability to make cookies that could pass for hers, so while they may not have needed to be experienced, it probably wasn't their first attempt either.

Baking and cooking skills both -- it's not the time to give up yet, Rika. There are still several ways to find out more about this killer...

It probably wouldn't be too much of an issue for most people if they were meticulous enough about following the directions.

[ For the two of them on the other hand... lol ]

In any case, the point still stands, yes? That this was presumably someone with at least passable skills in both cooking and baking.

[ or "booking" as i just typed ]

I don't think we need to pin down a precise skill level, nor will we be able to.
