TRIAL IV

Trial IV

The story presses onward as you gather in this now familiar "courtroom" to deliberate the deaths of two more of your number. By now there's more space for everyone with the population dwindling down to twenty, and by this weekend's end it will dip ever further. But maybe in a time like this more space is needed, though one most always be mindful of the clock.

Adora and Norton Campbell are dead, and the price must be repaid.

[OOC NOTE: Please keep in mind the only mod run checks are those that directly involve a piece of evidence found during the investigation. Those checks that involve player participation will rely on each player's willingless to partake in the check, for the sake of keeping IC choices intact]

... Professor, you mentioned only five wounds were post-mortem. So one had to be the pre-mortem, fatal wound, was it not?

[This is the trial for my his dignity, he swears-]

I meant five wounds could be confirmed as being post-mortem. It is difficult say for the laceration on her collarbone.

[when will the shame end...]

[ pats you and the parrot. metaphorically, not physically. ]

... So none of the stab wounds were pre-mortem?

[ do not like!! ]

But what would be the point of the laceration if she was already dying from the poison?
biyishuangfei: (♪ Risky)

[personal profile] biyishuangfei 2021-06-26 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
To make it look like a fight happened, maybe?
hellochildren: (We will work on this in the future)

[personal profile] hellochildren 2021-06-26 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly vhat I was about to suggest. Eizer that, or...

[Oh, small idea, but an idea.]

Or perhaps a fall.
heroicact: (qué revengeance)

[Hello he is here to pat Pericles on the back literally in lieu of metaphorically. You're doing your best, Prof.]

It seems the lounge was in terrible disarray, regardless of what happened between herself and her killer. Was there something in particular that she could have fallen over...?

Perhaps the chair, or the cushion...

[Okay maybe not the cushion but y'know.]
mathodical: (25)

[personal profile] mathodical 2021-06-26 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
... Wasn't there a gash in the cushion?

Could it have been possibly caused by a knife because it was used as a shield?

I am not sure... what sort of weapon Adora herself carried, but it has been said that she may have been more versed in hand-to-hand, yes?

[Did. Did Adora have a kitchen knife. How many people have kitchen knives now. Are we just a collective Zola at this point.]
mathodical: (28)

[personal profile] mathodical 2021-06-26 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's more likely that Adora used the cushion, and the killer used the bloody chef's knife that Junko found disposed in one of the mansions.
heroicact: (let Gilbert live)

[personal profile] heroicact 2021-06-26 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, so it was the cushion, and she perhaps had one wound that was truly from the knife in a fight... of some sort.

[Thoughtful but also a little uncertain.]

Though given everything else, I'm not sure what sort of fight it would have been, still.

[personal profile] mathodical 2021-06-26 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
... Could the crushing along the wound be done with the back of a knife?

[ that's a complete non sequitur don't mind him he's just thinking out loud????? ]
heroicact: (sometimes u are a floor brush)

[personal profile] heroicact 2021-06-26 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Would there be a reason for the killer to use the back, or is it more a result of struggle?
hellochildren: (I can assure you will rue that decision)

[personal profile] hellochildren 2021-06-26 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[You are lucky he already knows you're a saint or something, Jack, because instead losing a finger or even just a nail, the parrot just glares.]

Remove your hand from my back please.

[if this isn't character development i don't know what is]
heroicact: ('twas brillig until the slithy toves gyr)

[Success! Character development and birb friendship +10! ☆]

Understood! It was simply by force of habit, I'm afraid.

[He's used to putting hands on people's shoulders but parrots don't have real shoulders F.]
hellochildren: (Ensure that it does not happen again)

[sigh]

Understood. Just try not to do so again.
