Execution

Like clockwork, the melody calls you together for the execution, although the circumstances are perhaps a bit better, if you can even call it that. Those who choose to attend will see an odd sight: two winged beings present in a magical bubble: one is Lucifer of course, six wings folded like they were much of yesterday and the other is a cream colored mourning dove, Nageki.

The mirrors and scenery is much like it was the week before, but—the air feels slightly heavier today? Maybe today is just a day for oddities.

[ He tried to at least have some self-preservation skills ... in honor of barely having many life-skills, but hey. At least they're both outside and he's confused to be dragged further still... but he'll believe there's a reason for that ]

At least he stops dragging once they've made it past the hall and down the stairs. Far, far away from the chaos.

Norton finally lets go and plops himself down on one of the bottom steps... Breathing hard... Looking like he'd just seen a ghost... ]

[ He's about to ask when suddenly...a boom was heard, and he's already turning towards the direction of the room above the steps. ]

That...that was...!

[ He could heard the shatter of glass from there, he'll at least go back up to the steps, but halt. Maybe...maybe he shouldn't go back to the room. His hands were trembling. ]

[ So are Norton's. The sound of the explosion was enough to make him jump as he's gripping the brim of his hat like it could fly off if he let go.

He doesn't go back up the stairs. He can't will himself to get away. All he is able to do at this very moment is curl up near the banister and moan through his gritted teeth. ]

He's sure he didn't want to see whatever aftermath that was, and he will preserve his last memory of Nageki alive by being defiant. And not in pieces.

He'll head back downstairs and head over to Norton, before kneeling down next to him. ]

Norton? Can you hear me? It's over...

[ He startles at the sound, quickly glancing over his shoulder... ]

Norton can't stop shaking but... At least this guy wasn't hurt? He wasn't sure about the others. He'll see them soon, maybe... Hopefully. ]

E-Eh... Nh... [ Words are hard to manage when you're heart's pounding like this. ] Can we... L-Let's get outta here.

[ He tries to pick himself up, clinging to the railing for support. ]

[ There's a pause...did he just hear something?

No, you know what. Norton really WAS right. He was done! He wanted no more part of this insanity! This was precisely why he never went to executions. ]
