AFTERPARTY III: Never Have I Ever Been Quite This Drunk

[There's absolutely nothing celebratory about this drinking party. "Party" isn't even the right word, not really-- it's more like a "drink until you forget and/or black out" session for anyone who wants to participate, and even the bartender isn't immune from that much. Please forgive him if your drink isn't mixed quite right; he's trying his best under the circumstances.

There's food, too, if anyone wants to attempt to stave off a hangover tomorrow, or just get something in their stomach after the events of the day: stirfry from Makoto, vegetable soup from Nageki (mediocre, but hey, a genuine effort was made and that's what counts), and some tea for those who would rather abstain from the harder stuff. (Is that even many people tonight? Probably not.)

Come on by the bar if you're hungry or want a drink, or even if you just don't want to be alone right now. That much, at least, is something that can be guaranteed tonight.]

[ He has not seen this and he is very very uncertain if he's intrigued or disturbed by what is going on here. Someone should probably stop Pericles from having any more... how does alcohol tolerance work for tiny bird bodies... Concerning!

Anyway, the sentiment is sweet. ]

... thank you, I appreciate it. I was certainly worried, but... I feel more sorry for William at this rate, we really put him through quite a lot there.

[To put it simply-lightweight. Very, very lightweight. But at least this bird is able to keep his wits about him!]

I intense-intent to apolochize-apologize to him as vell. I vill atmid-admit, I suspected him somewhat due to his tenacy-tendency to visit the apose-apothecary.

I feel almots-almost grateful, zat I was too late in gedding-getting my vote in.
vogelfrei: (sad; tragic hair thing)

How ironic that we may owe some of our outcome to simply how inefficient we were at bringing the trial to a close on time.

[ It was far too close a call. If more people had been getting their votes in during all that confusion... it could have gone badly. ]

In many ways we've been more lucky than skilled, through this whole game.
hellochildren: (I can assure you will rue that decision)

[A low growl escapes the parrot's throat-less actively hostile and more generally frustrated.]

I hate zat cannit-can not refute eizer of sos-zose statements.

I vas in a misery-mystery solving group, verdammt. And vhat have I done here? Make vool-fool of myself and be trigg-tricked by a murderer.

[There's being humbled, and then there's being humiliated. He feels very much in the latter category, thank you very much.]
vogelfrei: (serious; surprise; talky)

[personal profile] vogelfrei 2021-06-21 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There is something deeply comical about this amount of rage coming from a shaky parrot body, but the actual content is honestly relatable. ]

Believe me, I spent a good amount of time working as a military inspector, I hear you. It may not be the same as being a criminal investigator, but I still thought it would train my skills better than this.

What kind of mysteries did you solve?
hellochildren: (Ensure that it does not happen again)

[personal profile] hellochildren 2021-06-23 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Vell, at heast-least I am not ze only one feeling humiliated.

[He's not sure if that's a good something or a bad something, but it's something.]

For some reashon-reason, criminals in Cry-[HIC]-ystal Cove have a tendeshy-tendency to dress up in monster cozooms-costumes, eizer to commit crimes or scare people afay-away so zey can commit crimes vizout-vithout risk of being caught.

It is kite-qvite stupid, I know, but it is ze truce-truth.
vogelfrei: (surprise; anger; do not like)

[personal profile] vogelfrei 2021-06-23 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
... huh. And the civilians around haven't caught on to that pattern yet? I would imagine monster sightings become a lot less frightening with such high frequency.

[ The differences between worlds are truly something. Is this weirder than speaking birds? In some way yes. It's such mundane madness. ]
hellochildren: (We will work on this in the future)

[personal profile] hellochildren 2021-06-24 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Two reasons. Vone, ushuu-usually the criminals still have some medzure-measure of power vhen discies-disguised-somesing zat can harm people. At vone point, a woman trite-tried to kill teenagers vith a robotic canine for not beink-being friends wis her son.

[So...yeah.]

Second, it fuss-vas only recently zat evorts-efforts were mate to deal wis zese issues, as the last mayor trite-tried to use zese criminals as tourist attractions. Ze "Most Hauntedest Place On Earth" title woot-woult be meaningless if all ze monsters fur-vere fake after all.

Zat fuzz-vas his opinion, anyvay.
vogelfrei: (smile; distant)

[personal profile] vogelfrei 2021-06-27 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
.... and just like that, I have no more questions about it.

[ People truly ARE the same in every single world. What a disappointment, really. ]

You'd think just hiring professional actors to pose as monsters would be a lot less chaotic in the long term.
hellochildren: (I can assure you will rue that decision)

[personal profile] hellochildren 2021-06-29 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You woult sink zat! But he jush-just actively chose to encoooraech-encourage ze criminals and dish-discourage zose who trite-tried to solve mysteries.

[A frustrated sigh.]

Vhat I woos-woult not give to see zat man aken-again...
