AFTERPARTY III: Never Have I Ever Been Quite This Drunk

[There's absolutely nothing celebratory about this drinking party. "Party" isn't even the right word, not really-- it's more like a "drink until you forget and/or black out" session for anyone who wants to participate, and even the bartender isn't immune from that much. Please forgive him if your drink isn't mixed quite right; he's trying his best under the circumstances.

There's food, too, if anyone wants to attempt to stave off a hangover tomorrow, or just get something in their stomach after the events of the day: stirfry from Makoto, vegetable soup from Nageki (mediocre, but hey, a genuine effort was made and that's what counts), and some tea for those who would rather abstain from the harder stuff. (Is that even many people tonight? Probably not.)

Come on by the bar if you're hungry or want a drink, or even if you just don't want to be alone right now. That much, at least, is something that can be guaranteed tonight.]

[Marcus has probably... no, definitely had more than he really should have at this point, and it's probably for the best that he's given up on the idea of trying to bartend for the time being given the way he just sort of droops down and smooshes his face into Phil's shoulder with a sound halfway between a sigh and a groan.

Forget him not cutting Phil off the other day, someone really should have cut him off tonight...]

Gonna regret this tomorrow...

[Well, he's... self-aware, at least?]

[ Phil seems to relax a little against him — though maybe it's less relaxing and more like deflating now that he has someone else here to prop him up. ]

I regret plenty already... not that that's anything new.

[ He reaches for the tall glass of water that's off to the side from his empty drink glasses — he'd gotten one to have on hand in advance so he wouldn't have to get up and trip over himself like an idiot to get one when he started to feel like he needed it — and slides that over. ]

At least we can try to minimize yours. Here.

[Marcus, meanwhile, uses that as an opportunity to slip his arms around for a hug, as much to steady himself so that he doesn't lose his balance as to actually hug Phil.]

You 'n me both. Looks like we're even for today.

[Until Phil tries to shove that glass over, that is, and he shakes his head, grimacing.

... okay, that was definitely a bad idea, because now everything is kind of spinning in very interesting ways. Ugh. He's had way too much.]

If you're not about to tell me that's your second or third glass, I'm not touching it until you drink some too.

I-it's my third, so... I'm fine.

[ The four non-water glasses on the table say otherwise, but Marcus is drunk enough that he figures he might be able to get away with it. ]

I can get some later.

[You see this face, Phil? This is the "I don't really believe you, but I'm also too drunk to make too much of a fuss about it" face. Plenty of judgment there, though.]

You drink half, and I'll drink the other half.
