FIRST INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION I
Good Morning. Did you sleep well? It certainly feels like you have, perhaps too well, even for those who don't normally sleep. Maybe that's to be expected in this fairy tale, maybe it was only a matter of time.
Regardless, rise and get ready for your day, and keep your eyes to the sky. For who knows if someone fell to temptation?

1. It's... well, it's not ideal considering it's made to basically scrape out wood, but he could probably manage it with a lot of effort, it would probably just be extremely awkward and tiring. Also I can't believe William's just going to drop into the trial 15 minutes late with Lucibucks--
2. It's definitely long enough that it can reach the ground if thrown from the roof, yep! This is assuming he doesn't actually cut through it, though.
3. The brick colored bits are more pinkish in tone and they actually resemble the building's outer (brick) walls more. rip rooftop tho we knew ye well]

HYPOTHETICALLY. is it strong enough to hold someone's weight-- hold on, he's going to need some help for this.
he's enlisting the help of suga and rika + anyone else who happens to be milling around around the exterior of the house by asking them to try and climb the rope up and also going to holler at someone to check the walls for any chips made by the adze.
would the rope be able to hold someone's weight enough for them to climb up the wall using the trellis/wall/whatever foothold etc. basically he's trying to figure out how the heckkie the body got up there or how SOMEONE got up/down from there. ]
no subject
Wait, you want me to climb up that?
[ Is he getting dragged into things again? Help. ]

[ chop chop get with the programme. ]
I need data.
[ ???? william your explanations suck ]
no subject
[ Needs more info, but he has just enough to realize... ]
You think this has something to do with the murder?
no subject
Yes, obviously.
If this rope snaps under your weight I want to know.
no subject
[ Reluctantly, Norton grabs onto the rope and tugs. ]
no subject
I suppose the question is, does Norton want to deal with a girl's corpse falling down from above or no.]

Just try not to dislodge the corpse from the gutter on the way up.]
no subject
Well, if Rika is judging, she's not indicating it, but she does have a look of pity when she glances at Samidare's body. No one deserves to be killed like that.]
Moriarty, sir. Climbing up here with another person on your back would be a feat of strength most people here would struggle with, right?
no subject
[ he is understandably distracted because
1.) Norton is yelling at him from below
2.) He crouched over Sami's body just to make sure that the corpse isn't desecrated even more than it already is-- HE FEELS MAYBE A LITTLE BIT BAD
3.) processing everything that he's learned so far takes time ok
but that is definitely a noise of agreement
this is something they can discuss at the trial later, probably ]
no subject
[Rika falls silent and decides to observe what she can about Samidare, distressing as it is. She can't help but think about whether Samidare Asahina knew who the culprit was, and if she was there worrying about them getting away.]
no subject
[Cue Jack Vessalius’ most fashionably late and terrible entrance, in which he’s been trailing after kitchen crew very slowly and possibly has belatedly gotten up the gumption to at least do a corpse visit, but alas...
There is. So much happening, even though his question could likely apply to any point in this godforsaken day, really.
Just. Looking between Norton, Moriarty, and what they’re fighting over and raising his eyes to the heavens for a moment. Does he spot anything odd about the wall along the way or should I have him wall-stare harder.]
no subject
I have no idea, I just got up a while ago, he wanted me to climb this thing [ gestures at the rope here ], It's not even tied to anything except maybe a dead body? I don't fucking know either, the jackass isn't saying anything!
[ He takes a beat to breathe. ]
Anything else you wanna know?!
no subject
Otherwise he just shakes his head, briefly.]
Please, take some time and a few more breaths. Many act oddly in a situation like this, and we may question William on his motivations at a later time.
My first priority is to wrap up the investigation so that the body may be safely recovered, but I thank you for trying to help, it seems, regardless. If you’d like, I can take it from here.
[Well, his voice is soothing, at least — even though his expression is mildly distracted. He’s a little torn between duties, all things considered.]
no subject
... P-please, just. Do it.
[ Now he tugs away and starts stomping away from the rope. He needs a moment, please. ]
no subject
Unfortunately, they're all still finding their feet in this place, and it's truly debatable whether solid ground is anywhere to be found at all.
Hang in there, Norton.]
no subject
But hey, if he's looking towards the heavens, perhaps they'll answer his call with, uh. Well, he'll see a chimney, if you discount the climbing party that's happening in the neighboring thread.]
no subject
He will have to try not to get underfoot with all the climbers, and so he’ll stay on the ground for now, moving to slightly different angles on the chimney. Anything unusual about it, or is he going to have to join the Trellis circus troupe??]
no subject
So either he'll have to get creative here or maybe rope someone else into this. Of course, there's also that hole in the roof too so technically going through the attic is also an option if he can get a boost, maybe.]
no subject
That being said, he’s also patient enough to try all avenues, so it seems the attic is his best bet — no idea who’s still up in there at this time, but what are the odds a few of those wooden boxes would let him pull himself through that hole up to the roof? He’ll stand on tippy toes??
He could also call for someone up on the roof to help pull him through but after the fiasco with William and The Rope Trick perhaps he will refrain for now.]
no subject
Anyways, assuming the hole is widened and rope crew gets to him, Jack can make it to the roof successfully! Bask in that feeling of accomplishment??]
