The abyss in the fountain beckons, but doesn't demand quite yet. Who knows when that will change, though.

[The hands nearest to the barrier open up the fingers as wide as possible, slamming the needletips right onto it, trying to break through. Hi! Another, another, another pop up from the stone, looks like the Beldam is trying to get a cluster of them over there, to try to force her way through]

[ With everyone around pulling out some absolutely crazy magic tricks, McGillis quickly realizes that what he can do with a sword is a last resort here and otherwise not going to be helpful.

So instead of trying to hack at the hands just yet, he's going to throw salt at them as hard as he can which is... not precisely easy through the rain, but he's going to try and see what the effect is. ]

[When a salt hits a hand it shudders and rusts. It doesn't break apart, but looks like the Beldam's most aggressive tools around here can be weakened with the salt. Doesn't look like she can wash it away with rain without risking further rust, either!

Well, at least any hands that are hit with salt are more fragile now. Wouldn't take much to break them apart, just strength]

McGillis! I'll spell you some cherry bombs!

[ Finally, FINALLY, she can use her spacial magic to pull the cherry bombs out of her carpet bag and right into McGillis' hands. ]

[ This is VERY DISCONCERTING, dear Yuri, but also incredibly practical. He is startled but recovers very quickly. He'll pass the salt bag to Huaisang who is hopefully still behind him and then it's time for some fireworks. ]

[ He certainly is! He will catch the bag just fine. \o/ ]

[ Oh right, McGillis can—he can't exactly shout so his favorite living caporegime is going to get a semi automatic tossed at him. Is Mcgillis a better catch than Jack is?

He'd say he's sorry for the no heads up, but even if he wasn't busy being the bard here he would do this anyway~. ]

[ Also gonna toss the pistol (which has the safety on) towards McGillis! You're a better shot than Tenn is, have at it! ]

[ The good news is, McGillis is indeed a better catch. In a situation like this with every part of his body and soul focused on nothing but survival, his attention is sharper than ever and he does not catch that gun easily but he certainly does catch it. Thank god Huaisang fixed his eye partway earlier or this would not have been possible.

He even catches gun 2! Please clap!! ]

[Suddenly McGillis will feel something on his leg. Watch out, pal, you have a hand clinging to your leg and trying to climb up -- one of the Beldam's real hands, instead of a creation]

[ Oh fuck, that is bad timing now that he has just discarded the sword.

He will hit the back of that hand with the handle of one of the guns, forcefully. ]

[As long as it doesn't make you shoot your leg by accident!

The hand seems undeterred at first, before shuddering and letting go of McGillis. They still were being controlled by the Beldam, but Marcus going for the eyes down there sure got her attention. It's hard to focus on your hands when you're getting your button eyes attacked, you know how it is better than anyone.
