FINAL TRIAL
Final Trial
This Friday morning you've investigated as has become commonplace, even if the circumstances have shifted. And now it's time to take stock of what you've found, what options you have, what options you don't, in the lull of action you have left.
The abyss in the fountain beckons, but doesn't demand quite yet. Who knows when that will change, though.
[OOC NOTE: You'll have the first hour of trial to discuss what you found in final investigation yesterday, and then we'll get this show on the road! ]

I must admit, I wasn't expecting the warm welcome! What would you like us to call you - I imagine "Yor" isn't the right name?
[Sure, we've got "the Beldam" already but like, might as well be polite about it.]

[Her pleasant smile doesn't drop, but something in her brow furrows when she sees Yeager. Someone isn't happy to see him]
no subject
Understood! [The Other it is!! He's not saying the whole name every time.] Did you choose to look like Yor for any specific reason?
no subject
[And judging by the general looks of stupor, she wasn't wrong: it helped disarm people for a moment]
Besides she's a mother. I'm a mother too, she and I are similar.
no subject
That. He can't stay quiet anymore. His eyes narrow and he gives the Other Yor a piercing gaze despite himself. ]
No, you really aren't.
no subject
What do you mean?
[She having time to needle people around seems to be an indication she feels quite confident about things]
no subject
You never cared about anyone, you never knew what love truly was and you still don't -- Yor-san may have done bad things, but it will never erase all the good that she's done for me. You, on the other hand, have caused endless pain and suffering for us all.
...That's what he wants to say, anyway.
But he realizes that he spoke up against his better judgment, which was a mistake on his part; so instead of answering her question, he'll plead the fifth. ]

[She extends a tray towards him. It has cookies]
So, I'm sure you all understand we all standing here is pointless, and seeing how none of you want to eat, then let's end this. We can do this the good way, or the bad way. I don't mind either way.
[Not even when she's threatening to get away with everything she did she drops her warm welcome. This is someone who has a lot of practice doing this stuff]
no subject
Secondly, no, he's not taking them. ]

[ TOTALLY NOT FREAKING OUT. Makoto steps just in front of Tenn to slowly pick up a cookie. Not that he's going to eat it, but if it buys them some time here... ]
no subject
[Without missing a beat she just takes a coffee maker from behind her, already full of it, and slides it across the table towards her guests]
No need to be wary of anything -- I'm a great cook. You all enjoyed your feast when you arrived, didn't you? That was all mine.
no subject
Assuming she looks away to talk with people at some point ??? He's going to try and look at his cup through the stone. Of course, if she keeps talking and Makoto thinks he can get away with it with his sleight of hand, he'll be paying attention while looking around some more with it. ]
no subject
From what Makoto can see it really looks like everything around him is built pretty weakly. Looks like what was being said about she being weaker was pretty accurate -- everything looks like it's held up with the magical equivalent of paperclips and duct tape]
no subject
[Using her image to get them to hesitate makes sense and he can get that! Fortunately for him, he doesn't care.]
Oh, are you? Are you speaking of a specific child or... perhaps of the ones you've taken care of before?
[There aren't quotes around "taken care of" but that is only because he tried very hard not to put them there!!!]
no subject
[For someone who is making an effort to sound so motherly, she said that with the air of someone who talks about missing a bus or something]
no subject
I apologize for the rude question, but... what happens to them?
[How exactly are you killing them...????]
no subject
And then I eat their lives.
[So matter of fact]
no subject
It seems a bit strange that you'd jump to a setup quite like this. Why did you decide to bring us all here and why set the rules up as you have?
no subject
[Yup, she's welcoming theories]

no subject
[She wouldn't prey on adults if she didn't absolutely have to, is her point]
no subject
So moving on to seeing if you could get the same thing from adults, ja, that makes sense. There were quite a few of us brought here, though... Were you concerned you wouldn't get what you needed from just one person?
no subject
[She supposes it was to be expected they'd figure that bit out. The part she had been keeping under wraps there in that conversation with Alexei pops up:]
I have never consumed an adult ever before. It's...different, somehow. Maybe it's the age, I don't know. But I found out I couldn't just consume any of you right away instead of wasting any time trying to convince you all to listen to me. Part of the reason why I set this up is that I needed time to figure out how to do so. I'm glad to say I did.
[Well, not that she had much time to waste. She's starving, as mentioned in meetings a while ago]
Until not that long ago the most I had been able to do was take a little bit to sustain myself for a little while longer. Isn't that inconvenient?
[How could the Beldam sustain herself every once in a while from people here? Any thoughts, Yeager?]
