the final afterparty

[

That sure happened, but everyone, by some miracle, made it out alive. No one else died, nothing blew up, no arson was committed, we're all still here. And being here, being present despite everything that just happened, is really important. This is for everyone, McGillis and Yuri included (and Jack, if he wants to party from the dungeon), because they all need it. Even with the new revelations, nobody should be left behind.
The party takes place in the bar again, and it probably looks a little...odd? Because there's all the alcohol in the back, and then...there's a bunch of donuts on one of the tables. Two whole baskets of donuts from the bakery, provided by Tenn. Next to the baskets is tea provided by Koto. Have at it, everyone. ]

[ It's straight to the point, but they've held out this far, so in the end...he's not going to accept anything order than their best. ]
...I don't eat a lot of donuts, actually.
Any of the strawberry ones might do it for me right now, though. Which ones are you going for?
no subject
[ He'll gladly reach for a strawberry one for Huaisang, and grab a chocolate one for himself. ]
You know, Huaisang, I still find it funny that we were distrustful of each other at first. I'm glad this game didn't end up pitting us against each other.
It's been a pleasure getting to know you.
no subject
He feels like talking about it now, since, well. He hasn't before, actually. ]
Honestly, when Moriarty told me what he had said to you, I was thinking that I understood why he might've done so, and I did tell him I wanted to trust his judgment, however...
...To put it bluntly, I didn't know who you were. And he didn't even tell me he did this until he was in the dungeons! He did say he had only limited time with things happening so fast, but still.
That's the reason why I reacted so badly. It was a little embarrassing, though I think it worked out for the best.
[ A dramatic sigh, but a smile. ]
With all of that said, I'm happy to have gotten to know you too. You've been a good friend throughout all of this.
no subject
I'm glad you two worked together. Actually, I didn't know whether to trust Moriarty-san myself, but he turned out to be a very valuable friend in the end.
[ He gives Huaisang a fond smile. ]
The same goes to you, too. I've been wanting a chance, after all of this is over, to talk to the people I care about one-on-one, just as people. As ourselves, without there being a huge threat looming over our heads. I don't know if such a thing will be possible, but that sounds like it'd be nice.
no subject
He was one of the very first people I turned to with that information, after all.
[ Let's just skip past the part where killing happened in the first place and it's all good. Anyways, he's considering what Tenn's saying with a bit of surprise, honestly...
He's only actually spoken to two people about this sort of thing. No prizes if you can guess who those two people he discussed it with were. ]
...You know, I think this is the first time I'm hearing about this and not being the one to bring it up, because it's actually something I've thought about. Or kind of discussed with some others through the weeks. I'd really like for that to be possible, though.
[ Because when he gets back, he's going to work on bettering relations with Wei Wuxian, Lan Wanji, and Jiang Cheng. But he'll still want to talk with the people he managed to develop some cares for while he was here... ]
no subject
[ It really is getting more comfortable saying those things out loud, at least. He's no longer ashamed to admit that he sees people as his friends. It's a huge step for him. ]
I would, too. It'd be nice if there were a way to still be able to see everyone, once we all go home.
[ But...as far as he knows? That's just a pipe dream. It's a little sad to think about. ]
What are you going to do when we get out, Huaisang?
no subject
[ Huaisang smiles, a little amused.
Things like this are still kind of iffy with him where some people are concerned, but he can admit to himself (which is harder than him saying it out loud) that he cares about people. ]
Personally? I'm going to cross my fingers, even if it's not likely.
[ He can dream!! ]
I'm going to go back home and sleep in for a couple of days. Then, visit Wei-xiong and others to do some catch up. Following that, probably paint to my heart's content...and a lot of other things. What about you?
no subject
[ ...A very good one, though, despite everything.
Hearing Wei Wuxian's name pop up is nice. Tenn nods at that and gives Huaisang a gentler smile. ]
I hope you two can catch up on everything. We'll definitely get him back to you. [ He's sure of it. ] As for me... I'll probably sleep a lot, too, but I'll have to get back to work soon. I don't think Kujo-san or TRIGGER would want me to stay idle for too long.
[ It'll also be a good way for him to get his mind off of everything that's happened these past few weeks... ]
no subject
[ Yeah he's definitely not forgotten about his buddy here. Regardless of their time differences and other shenanigans, WWX will always be an important friend to him.
He's still low-key pissed WWX got caught up in this and died, but you know, anger is a powerful motivator. He's sure it's the same for Tenn and Riku. ]
We'll definitely get Riku back for you too, by the way. [ So, yeah!! ] Well, I hope you'll get enough rest before being thrown back into everything. From what I've learned, being an idol isn't just standing around and looking pretty.
And, uh...who is Kujo?
no subject
[ He hadn't really talked about his backstory much with Huaisang, had he? Well, it isn't too late now, he supposes. ]
Kujo-san is my legal guardian. That's why my name is Kujo Tenn, while Riku's is Nanase Riku. There's...a long story behind why that happened.
[ He shrugs a little. ]
I'll tell you if you want to hear it. Otherwise, I won't bore you with the details.
no subject
I'd...like to hear it, if you don't mind?
[ They've got time, so he's kind of curious himself. ]
no subject
As you know, Riku has an illness. He's been sick since he was born. My parents ran a nightclub that was failing financially, and a man named Kujo Takamasa wanted to buy it out. Instead, he offered to support my family financially and help with Riku's hospital bills if he could take me under his wing.
Kujo-san is looking for someone who will surpass the legendary idol known as Zero, who went missing a while back. He sees that potential in me; I've been training under him since I was around thirteen. I'm officially part of his family, and my name's even changed in the registry.
[ ... ]
It's been years since I was able to have a proper conversation with Riku, so that's one of the only good things that have happened because of being brought here. I just...wish we had more time to talk.
no subject
I'm glad he helped, but...I can see how things were difficult for awhile if you couldn't speak to Riku much.
[ Things really aren't so easy to be black and white, even in those situations. ]
I hope you two have some more time to talk after this, though.
