CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER 6
The dead now outnumber the living.
There's only one area that stayed a mystery until now. A new path revealed itself, leading to another town, surrounded by sturdy stone walls. Even from some distance away you can see the tower, rising high towards the skies. The path that leads to the city turns into gold before long, and the sky itself seems to take a beautiful tone, like it's painted with watercolors. It's such a peaceful-looking town, welcoming you with open gates. It must be nice to have another urban setting, after living in the same place for so long.
But no matter what you find it doesn't change the situation you're in. Now that your numbers are dwindling that's impossible to forget.
The story is nearing its end. There still are a handful of pages left. What will they bring?
[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST; this is the last week for murder proposals as week 7 is endgame. Also, please note the shop's discount on magnifying glasses! ]]

They have given us no reason to think the mirrors are in any way trustworthy and they themselves admit that they're still fallible individuals. I do not think there was ill intent, but I think they might have been mislead.

It was in front of our eyes all along, but we were understandably swayed by hope and kind words.

It would be our weak spot. Many of us have loved ones among those who already passed. The desire to honor their memory could work against us.

Oh, I do agree. Their source has not been completely wrong, I think. But we do have to keep in mind how much they have gotten wrong so far.
no subject
...I really think that's a stretch in this case.
Even if the dead could have handled things better.

But what makes you think that my suggestion is unlikely? We don't know who or what their source on the other side even is.
no subject
But the fact remains that they're right we have traitors among us. That was confirmed but they also mentioned it in the letters. If their source knew to inform them of that, when they could have been kept in the dark since they're dead, then it makes it far less likely they're being led astray.
With us even to receive communication like this in the first place, I don't know if we should be assuming where their source even is.

[ He sighs, softly. ]
It's just hard to take their information at face value when it's been so incredibly inconsistent, both with itself and with what we ourselves experienced.
no subject
That's part of why I don't blame people for doubting everything they've said in the first place.

Personal loyalty to Hamelin, blackmail, special privileges, or perhaps they want to see us all dead for their entertainment. The traitor's presence can only lead us to blindly condemn, but it's likely that they may have their own reasons. Reasons that we, in turn, may have done the same with. What we have to do is find the truth and then come up with a plan of how to handle it based on how dangerous they are, and whether or not they can be turned to our side.
