CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER 6
The dead now outnumber the living.
There's only one area that stayed a mystery until now. A new path revealed itself, leading to another town, surrounded by sturdy stone walls. Even from some distance away you can see the tower, rising high towards the skies. The path that leads to the city turns into gold before long, and the sky itself seems to take a beautiful tone, like it's painted with watercolors. It's such a peaceful-looking town, welcoming you with open gates. It must be nice to have another urban setting, after living in the same place for so long.
But no matter what you find it doesn't change the situation you're in. Now that your numbers are dwindling that's impossible to forget.
The story is nearing its end. There still are a handful of pages left. What will they bring?
[[Welcome to Week 6! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST; this is the last week for murder proposals as week 7 is endgame. Also, please note the shop's discount on magnifying glasses! ]]
Sparring Grounds
At last, when he feels he's seen enough for now, he does decide to speak up to announce his presence. It's only polite, after all.]
Glad I'm not the only one who was starting to feel they've gotten out of practice while we've been stuck here. At this rate I'm gonna end up getting stiff if I try to swing my sword around too much.
no subject
I do try to keep up with my daily drills, since I can't run the risk of injuring myself while swinging around my weapon!
[That thing is taller than he is in two of its forms and the whole thing is ridiculously heavy. He absolutely could mess himself up if he isn't careful with it.]
I'm not as familiar with Raven's, though.
no subject
[He feels you there on ridiculously large and heavy weapons, though, because... well. There's no way he's going to be able to use that thing if he isn't at least lifting it and carrying it around regularly.]
Not a bad weapon, though. Bows aren't really my thing, but I gotta admit that something that can change form like that would be nice to have around sometimes.
no subject
I find bows a bit difficult to use in battle, which is why I opted for a crossbow. Much easier to aim, shoot, and keep moving!
[but then again he also opted for a six and a half foot rifle that he also uses at close range so maybe don't trust his word on anything.]
Transform weapons are still quite rare in Terca Lumireis. I had to have mine specially created, and then I had custom ones made for Droite and Gauche as well.
[Their gunblades are at least reasonably-sized??]
no subject
Yeah, mine's custom too. Guns aren't very common where I'm from, much less guns that are also swords. Then again, that's part of what gives me an advantage against my opponents.
[Aside from, you know, the sheer size of the thing. Who needs to be reasonable here?]
Droite and Gauche... friends of yours?
no subject
[Guns, but also gunblades!! As for that question...]
My daughters. [He mentioned as much during Never Have I Ever but it still feels kind of weird to just. say it!!!] They're very capable fighters and they learned very quickly!
no subject
Tales ages are a lie, we all know this]Makes sense. It figures that anyone you trained would be just as efficient as you.
[...]
Speaking of, feel like having a go at it? It'd be a lot more fun than just beating up another training dummy, that's for sure.
no subject
[He'll definitely give Marcus time to warm up and get ready for it, so c'mon, let's see what you've got!!]
no subject
[Don't mind him unhooking his gunblade for a few warmup swings just to get his muscles loosened up! He's rustier than he'd like to admit, but it won't take long for it to come back once he gets back into the swing (ha ha) of things given that he's been wielding this blade for... his entire existence, basically.]
Okay, ready whenever you are!
no subject
[Yeager's swapped back over to his own weapon in the time Marcus has taken to warm up, and from there they can begin!
unfortunately, fight scenes are difficult so are you down to handwave this and skip to the aftermath??]
no subject
It's definitely a good workout for the both of them, though, and the grin on Marcus' face by the time they finish is a genuine one, albeit a bit tired.]
... I gotta hand it to you, that's the first real challenge I've had in a while.
no subject
Hah, I'm pleased I could live up to your expectations! I've had a few good fights here, but I'll take challenging you over the Commandant any day!
[alexei beat him into the dirt and his ribs still hurt just thinking about it.]
no subject
Heh, and I'll take that as a compliment, unless you're implying that I'm more of a pushover than he is.
[The smile on his face makes it pretty clear that he's joking, though.]
no subject
[on the scale of tales bosses, he's like Final Boss tier!!! "he's not the final boss of vesperia"? correct but also: have you seen that mystic arte.]
You're certainly no pushover, and I gladly would try to recruit you into my guild if that were a possibility!
[thankfully, marcus is spared.....]
no subject
There's a definite shift in the atmosphere here now.]
... hey, you remember what I said the other day?
no subject
I do, ja. Have you come to a decision?
no subject
[You've earned at least some of his trust, Yeager...!]
no subject
Understood, I'll be sure to stop on by~!
