From the sound of it, they were quite close with everyone at the orphanage. The matron's quite the kind woman, but she's also very no-nonsense! Not overly strict, but certainly not the sort to put up with any bullying. I moved Gauche and Droite to Dahngrest after that, and I sincerely doubt anyone would have given them trouble.

[Both because Droite and Gauche would absolutely beat them up and because their dad was leading the assassins' guild. Perfectly normal things.]

I am sorry to hear that, though. Children certainly can be quite cruel to anyone who doesn't fit in.
