Yes, indeed. And the dead were rather fixated on him. Then there's the matter of Norton's motivation. Perhaps he discovered Moriarty.

It seems as if he was on our side, ultimately. And Hamelin seemed to have a personal distaste for him, so he continues to have a measure of my respect, at least. I hope the truth of the matter comes to light, at any rate.

[And if Moriarty was one of them, he'd know the identity of the other.]
