Unlike last week, the seventh hour of the night passes without any incident. Maybe it's enough to prevent as many terrible sleeping positions as last week, but an hour later your good luck is upended.

You rise with the sun again, although this time it's a good measure ahead of you. Today is another Friday, and you know what those bring by now.

The time is 6:00 AM.

[ phone tag is hell - William will probably end up meeting Yuri at the halfway mark or something or the other, looking a little tired and beat up (let him live, he spent the night on a dirt floor if anyone asks, a terrible place for a noble to sleep) ]

There are sadly no grand pianos either. ]

[ mods: by the time they teach the apothecary, are the doors locked? any signs of a scuffle? what happened here? ]

Some tea ingredients - provided nothing is out of place here.

[ After the outside is checked out, once they enter if nothing is immediately amiss, she'll look at the herb selection first. ]

[ No signs of a scuffle, doors are unlocked (as per usual) and the herb section is...well, all the jars are there but it looks like they're a little sparser than usual. ]

... Ah, someone might have been in here last night?

[ HM, that's weird, but FIRST: are the tea herbs OK??

And second and less important: which jars? ]

Are we looking at a poison case again?

[ YALL this is going to look bad again smh

[ The tea herbs are OK!

Looking at all the jars since Yuri is familiar and Moriarty is Moriarty nets you: Foxglove, Nightshade, Opimum, and Larkspur which each seem to be depleted. The jars are still mostly full, but comparing them to the other full jars it's clear that a small amount was taken relative to each missing. ]

[ Uh-oh. ]

We just might be. These are all poisonous, though... I do not recognize "opimum." Or at least, whatever this is, I do not know it by this name.

[ oh thank fuck the tea has been spared.

also that combination of herbs... dislike. ]

It might be a spelling error. Opium, perhaps? One of them was drugged and killed, possibly...

[ pls confirm if opium thank u fruit bowl mods. are there any signs of disturbances to the jars? Like the lids were jammed back? not quite put back properly? ]

[ It is in fact opium, this mod would like to blame her cat but we can blame fantasy spelling instead. Anyway!

The jars don't look disturbed or like they were put back in a hurry, and there's no other disturbances to note with them. ]

To use poison instead of force... Someone who thinks they cannot win with just brute force? Or perhaps someone who doesn't like to get their hands dirty? Poison is a rather convenient way of killing someone.

[ Are the gloves disturbed? Any empty jars/bags missing? Mortar & pestle used and abused again? ]

[No glove disturbances here and there are no missing jars or bags either. The mortar and pestle show no signs of use too, which is a good(???) thing maybe?]

[ any sign of other equipment used or the like??? squints.

were the bottles put back neatly, if the lids and all were not jammed on in a hurry? ]

[ She's also gonna have a really thorough look at all the other areas in the apothecary since she's familiar with it. Besides the equipment, she'll check the oddities, medical supplies, doors/windows, etc to see if anything has been disturbed or missing.

And if nothing else looks out of place, she'll go have tea with Moriarty. ]

[Indeed, it seems the rest of the apothecary has been left untouched. It'd be pleasing if it wasn't because it means the jars were the only stuff that got handled recently.

So looks like it's tea time! Make sure not to have it near any opimum]
