INVESTIGATION III

Some days are long and some days are short. If this wasn't the third week of your stay, perhaps you might think that exhaustion had crept in from Wednesday's nights activities. But you know better than that by now.

Consciousness comes to you groggily, perhaps uncomfortably depending where you were when sleep suddenly took hold of you. While the world stands on the verge of awakening as the horizon blazes with a fiery glow, the sky remains a navy blue where you are.

The time is 5:00 AM. You could return to your slumber, but do you really think third time's the charm?

[ Makoto follows William here from the kitchens why not. I'll move down to that thread in a second for the actual investigation.

Let William handle the body for now, Makoto crouches beside Huaisang instead. He might not have been especially close with either of them, but-- ]

[ He's not expecting anything. The logical part of his mind that's trying to shove all of this down so he could get moving so he's not in the way. The part of him that's still very emotional just wanted to sit here and sulk and do nothing. ]

[ But when Makoto had said that, he acknowledged him there, and something in those words finally triggered something as he looked up at him, tears beginning to fall down his cheeks. He almost thought he wasn't going to say anything, but somehow, he managed it. ]

We'll find them...won't we?

[ Makoto expected tears, but it still hurts to see them. He nods, expression serious. ]

We will. And I promise I'll do everything I can.

[ Holding out a hand for him, in case he needs it. ] Think you're up for helping? There might be clues outside. [ away from the body... ]

[ He'll reach for his hand to take it, fingers gently wrapping around it, and using it as leverage to help himself to his own feet.

He considered the others' words carefully. ]

I...I don't know. I think I'd like to help, but I need some time. M-maybe I could watch, though...try and make sure nothing is missed or something like that...

[ Do some extra looking around after the others were done (unbeknownst to him so many people were already investigating.)

He'll raise a sleeve to wipe at his eyes, before canting his gaze downwards, and he let go of the other's hand, before sullenly heading towards the exit of the room. ]

[ Makoto rises with him, letting him take his time. ]

Don't push yourself, okay? We're going figure this out together.

[ Hand squeeze before he let's go, because it feels like what you're supposed to do? Makoto isn't actually sure. But he'll let him wander off. They are on a time limit, after all. ]
