CHAPTER 3

CHAPTER 3

The number of murders increased in the span of one week, and so did the number of deceased people. Four people dying in the span of a week is a noticeable change, reducing your numbers to 25. Though the bakery has been cleaned up and fixed back to the state it was in originally, now that the specter of murder has fully settled in, perhaps some of those currently alive wonder how many will be around at the end of the new week.

It's fortunate now everybody can ponder it with a colorful change of scenery. Despite the situation everyone has been in, the world around them were plausible, even perhaps mundane to some extent. The scenery that unfolds beyond a canyon to the east drives home a point:

You're in a world far perhaps, beyond your wildest imagination.

It's a land of sweets. Wherever you look you can see something that's both full of sugar and joy. You could reach anywhere and you could get something that will make your mood soar and your day get better! After all, there's something for everyone! What wonders will you find if you search hard enough? This is a paradise for a sweet tooth! The sight, though, may make one question pop up:

Will this candy land be dirtied with blood? Only time will tell.

[[Welcome to Week 3! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.

In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]

[Whoa, so there are that many that share so much in common...?? That's wild. It'll probably hit him fully later how Phillip knows that, but for now he just looks sort of impressed.]

That's certainly interesting! I wonder if that had any impact on why there are some of us present from the same worlds... Or maybe that was simply Hamelin's idea of fun, I'm really not sure.

[It's at least partially because it's Hamelin's idea of fun.]

Since there is so much variety here, I assume those constraints probably aren't too much of an issue for him, so... I'd probably lean toward the latter, honestly.

[ Hamelin sucks. ]

The types of relationships between each set of people from the same world seem to differ quite a bit as well, so he might just be trying out different things to see what makes for the most interesting story.

That makes sense; I have to wonder if this is his first time gathering a group of us like this or if we're simply another chapter in whatever story he's writing.
biqe: (amidst the wreckage of our past)

[personal profile] biqe 2021-06-23 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I've wondered that as well, especially with the existence of that dusty spare room... it made me wonder if someone had stayed in that room previously, but this time around we were one... "character" short for whatever reason.
scythegun: (REALIZE ⇝ estelle's the princess?)

[personal profile] scythegun 2021-06-23 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
That is odd. I never really gave it much thought, but it does seem strange that he'd make a mistake like that... Could it be that someone he brought here was uncooperative and they were killed before our "chapter" started?

[That's just pure speculation, he hasn't examined room 5 at all despite it being right next door!!!]
biqe: (no one escapes their life)

[personal profile] biqe 2021-06-23 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible... though I think it would have had to have been a fair bit before we remember waking up here. The dust and stale air inside the room indicated it had been empty for a long time.
scythegun: (RELAXED ⇝ hahaha wow)

[personal profile] scythegun 2021-06-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's true. I suppose we don't really know how time works here and for all we know we're missing more than just the memories of arriving here... But that's likely overcomplicating things! Perhaps we'll figure out more about the mysterious former occupant of room five eventually!
