CHAPTER 3
CHAPTER 3
The number of murders increased in the span of one week, and so did the number of deceased people. Four people dying in the span of a week is a noticeable change, reducing your numbers to 25. Though the bakery has been cleaned up and fixed back to the state it was in originally, now that the specter of murder has fully settled in, perhaps some of those currently alive wonder how many will be around at the end of the new week.
It's fortunate now everybody can ponder it with a colorful change of scenery. Despite the situation everyone has been in, the world around them were plausible, even perhaps mundane to some extent. The scenery that unfolds beyond a canyon to the east drives home a point:
You're in a world far perhaps, beyond your wildest imagination.
It's a land of sweets. Wherever you look you can see something that's both full of sugar and joy. You could reach anywhere and you could get something that will make your mood soar and your day get better! After all, there's something for everyone! What wonders will you find if you search hard enough? This is a paradise for a sweet tooth! The sight, though, may make one question pop up:
Will this candy land be dirtied with blood? Only time will tell.
[[Welcome to Week 3! Feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. However, please try to keep investigations to Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday! You can also privately contact Hamelin at your leisure.
In addition, a reminder that any Murder Proposals for this week are due by Tuesday 3:00 PM EST/12:00 PM PST! However, please note that you have the option of submitting murder proposals for a later week as well.]]
Bar
If there is anybody who's earned all this, it's certainly you. Good evening.
no subject
Oh, absolutely. I truly do suffer so much, it's dreadful.
[He's absolutely joking, but man that trial was rough and he definitely sulked the entire weekend about it, but whatever it's fine now!!!]
Good evening to you too; are you here looking for anything in particular?
no subject
I thought I'd go for some simple red wine, but it appears that's a lot more complicated here than it'd be anywhere else in the world.
[ He idly runs his finger along some of the syrups and fruit juices on the shelves. An extensive selection, certainly, but who even asked for this...? Though that brings to mind... ]
SQ seems like she would have liked these things. It truly is too bad.
no subject
Ja, it is. I do wish things could have turned out differently... But there's no sense in dwelling on it. We do have bigger things to worry about here, unfortunately.
[SQ's death is something that's particularly complicated for him, but he can't say he regrets it. He survived, and that's what matters. Still though, that doesn't mean that this week will be any better.]
no subject
No choice but to move forward, yes. For what it's worth... personally I sincerely doubt you were behind last week's murder.
no subject
[These things happen, people get accused wrongly in murdergames all the time.]
no subject
[ He is not impressed with what went down in that trial room. ]
Well, at least now we know what to expect when things get ugly.
no subject
[Because SQ had done nothing wrong to anyone and her profile wasn't suspicious, because he's generally a terrible person, because he "fits" better than she does. Whatever reasoning behind it, there would be far less people mourning his loss.
Not that he sounds angry or bothered by it, though; as far as Yeager's concerned, this is just a fact.]
I do think that does tell us quite a lot though, ja? Particularly those who were all too quick to jump to baseless accusations who we should keep an eye on.
[Not that he necessarily thinks any of them were responsible for what happened to Gin, but that sort of panicking and chaos is definitely not helpful.]
no subject
I agree. I would not trust the Professor's judgement of character on anyone after this weekend. He seems to lack a lot of critical understanding on humans if he believes that being calm is automatically the mark of a killer.
Especially when C-ta had just demonstrated the exact opposite.
no subject
He'd never even spoken to me before and he thought he could judge my reactions? Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed. Anyone who has spoken with me for five minutes knows I'm always like this.
[He's aggressively weird 24/7 and no he will never stop.]
An attempt like that to make the pieces fit won't help anymore than throwing around baseless accusations will. We'll have to be careful in how we proceed from now on, because I doubt most people would be as calm about it as I am.
[...he sulked for like two days, but shhhh it's fine.]
no subject
Everyone might think now that they'd be more empathetic to somebody who emotes more strongly to the outside, but when there is a desperation to connect the dots and the clock is ticking, every bit of behavior can be misconstrued as a clue.
Under different circumstances I would agree that the art of reading people can be rather useful during inspections, but that is always in addition to facts and not instead of them. Here we are a small group of people who has everything to gain from lying to one another on a daily basis - any attempts at profiling are bound to be flawed under these circumstances.
no subject
Not to mention the fact that everyone handles stress differently, and assuming a person will handle things one way is never going to work out well.
[But he sighs once that's out there, lifting his shoulders a bit.]
Of course, I doubt any of us have ever been in a position like this before. Everyone does seem to be trying, even if their attempts are quite terrible and unhelpful. I do hope that what happened last time will serve as a lesson going forward, at least.
[SQ deserves better than that, but at the very least she will be remembered.]
