[ You know what's actually a mess? my handwriting and the fact that I haven't used a tablet in 5 years.

While he's on the floor by the inhaler bits (and I didn't draw in the diagram bc please save me) there's some vertical display stands with cupcakes no one wants to eat anymore in them kinda like this except he can see under it from the floor. And what he spots there appears to be something dark and brown? He can shimmy behind the display mind, or he can move it because it's not heavy. ]

Dark and brown..... dare he hope it’s chocolate? It is probably sadly not chocolate but Jack will... carefully shift the display a little because he doesn’t want to knock it over by accident. We don’t need any more broken bits in here... What does he uncover...?]

It is not chocolate..but it is a pair of bloody boots! Congrats. ]

[Wait??? This is a little alarming to find suddenly under such nice (somewhat not-as-nice) cupcakes...?! Not that it should be a surprise but you know. Uh. Well. He sort of stares at these murder boots for a few moments like a deer in headlights before he remembers that he’s actually supposed to interact with them. Yikes.

Just... going back to a crouch where he’d startled back up to his feet and doing his best to examine these things. How bloody are they? Is he going to need new gloves??]

[ They're pretty bloody like everything else around here, even though they were stashed behind the display case. We're talking about blood splatter on them first, for starters.

Jack should find Yeager and commiserate in the glove department. ]

[He will... definitely do that later. They’re perfectly white too, but at least the boutique’s likely got him covered. With a small wince he’s going to try to pick them up by a non-bloody bit for a more careful perusal.

Also we’re going to speed-run this because we can:

1. Comparing the size to the footprints from earlier
2. If they don’t match, comparing them to everyone in the bakery
3. Is the bottom bloody? Or is it other parts of the boot? Anything unusual about the blood splatter? What direction is it?
4. Anything inside them???]

1. The boots are a conceivable match for the footprints!
2. he can compare them to everyone else you can probably give the option the boot because of the previous answer!
3. The bottoms are very bloody. Most of it is just on the bottom although there may be a small flecks here and there on the top and sides of the boots.
4. Only the smell of sweet sweet feet. Wait, that sounds kinda gross actually, I take it back--]

[Wow he’s not sniffing it?? He’s not resorting to that, somebody else can do that goodbye.

Okay a few more questions:

1. What type of boots are these? Old or new? Wear and tear? Do they look like they could have come from the boutique or are they more unique and could have conceivably come from someone’s world?
2. Unisex or no?
3. Does the blood look to be about the same consistency/dryness as the rest of the blood in the bakery? Is there some way like tread etc. to match it more directly to the footprints?]

1. They look pretty new, or as new as a pair of boots can look while being covered in blood.
2. Unisex.
3. The blood on the boots is in line with the consistency of the rest of the blood in the bakery. As far as trying to make a tread match goes, its a conceivable match to the footprints but due to the general state of mess in here it's impossible to get something as a definitive match. ]
