[...congratulations, the parrot is struck silent for a good thirty seconds because, of all the things he was expecting to find, a while ass short sword was not one of them.

Also, if you don’t think he is stealing this, you’re dead wrong.

First, can he tell anything about this sword? Mainly whether or not this is a medieval type of sword? He knows what’s more likely to be found in the shop, but Gin talked about wielding a Japanese sword, and after Wednesday he knows even things from their homes can show up here, so anything’s possible as far as he can tell.

Second, after picking up the paper, can he see if anything is written on it?]

Anyways, it's definitely a Japanese sword--a wakizashi, if he's familiar with those.

The note is quite small (think Post-it note size) and also soaked through with drying blood, which obscures the writing quite a bit. However, if Pericles really squints at it hard enough, he can barely make out something like:

Does it match anyone's handwriting that he's seen, whether it's on hot or not, the fountain notes, or gin's note that was brought up at the meeting? ]

[The blood has made it really hard to distinguish the writing, so it's inconclusive, unfortunately!]

[The note is quite small, and not only it says 'I have what you want.', it also has directions to go into the Echo House A]

[After reading the note with much difficulty, stares at it for a second more, looks to the sword, looks back at the note, and comes to a conclusion.]

An unfortunate way to be reunited wis your sword, Herr Ichimaru. Especially if it truly lead to your death.

[It seems like this a clear cut conclusion on how this crime occurred, even if who is still blurry.

After placing the note in his scarf, there’s two more things the parrot will do if there’s nothing left of note about the wounds.

One, are there any signs of the sword being used recently? Does unsheathing the sword reveal any blood on it? Does the sheath itself have any nicks like another blade struck it? Or does it look completely untouched, apart from blood splattered or dropping from the injuries?

Two, what does Gin’s face look like? He probably had to get close to his face to really inspect the wound, and he’s curious. Are the eyes open? Does he look surprised? Scared? Or smiling as always?]

[There's no blood on the sword and yes, the scabbard looks like it's in good condition aside from the blood.

Gin has his usual squintiness happening there, although he's definitely not smiling. It's just kind of a neutral expression?]

[Not even a chance to defend himself. Tragic.

The parrot didn’t know Gin Ichimaru very well, but if he could tell one thing, the guy wasn’t interested in the normal and common.

He wouldn’t want to Rest In Peace.

And so, when Pericles moves a wing over the man’s face, it leaves Gin’s eyes wide open.]
