Good Morning. Did you sleep well? It certainly feels like you have, perhaps too well, even for those who don't normally sleep. Maybe that's to be expected in this fairy tale, maybe it was only a matter of time.

MANSION -- EXTERIOR GROUNDS

[Suga has stopped crying by the time he gets to the mansion, at least. He can't bring himself to actually go inside, so the outside it is.

First things first: is there anything obviously out of place? Blood, or signs of a struggle out here?]

[There was probably some attempt at comfort, if she saw any signs of tears, but...

She herself seems pale and grim as they make their way to the mansion for much the same reason.]

[Welcome to the outside of the mansion, Suga, Yor.

From a glance both of them can see there's nothing obviously out of place. No bloodshed, no signs of struggle, from what you both can see. Looks like you both will have to look harder!]

[After his first look around doesn't turn up anything, Suga next investigates any bushes outside, or other similarly-sized things that might be hiding small items in them.]

[Time to dive into the bushes! Or at least try to look through these branches and leaves.

Looks like nothing has been hidden over here...the bushes and other similar things around this mansion seems to hold no surprises of the sort. Although looking into this greenery is tough, Suga can be confident he didn't miss anything.

Around the mansion, right against the walls, the grass turns into a somewhat sizable portion of bare soil, meant for gardening and the such. The bushes are more scarce in this area, but Suga will find discovering anything with a cursory look there is difficult due to the shade of the mansion]

[He'll look at those shady bushes in more depth just to make sure he didn't miss anything, getting his hands scratched up by bushes if necessary. No leaf unturned, etc. etc.]

[Yor will continue looking around, searching the area as she makes her way down the path through the hedges.]

[It's such a beautiful path. Cobblestone, no grass growing between the stone tiles, no blood...no evidence.

But at least Yor can take solace in the beauty of this path through the hedges. On it she can even go towards the side of the house and to the back. If only this could be a leisurely walk...]

[If there's nothing worth noting around or in the hedges, she'll go ahead and move on to head down the side of the house, rustling bushes and plant life here and there as she peers around for anything off.]

[Ten minutes late and without starbucks, Edelgard arrives with Rika and Makoto in tow. She takes a quick sweeping glance across the exterior to see anything particularly suspicious?]

I believe the body is on the rooftop. A quick sweep of the surrounding area seems like a good idea, however. What do you two think?

[Calm and collected. This was always going to end this way. She turns her head only slightly when addressing Makoto and Rika.]

[Welcome to the outside of the mansion, Edelgard, Rika, Makoto. Let's have fun.

The first glance of Edelgard's examination reveals nothing. Looks like, if there's stuff to be found, it's not immediately obvious. Time to explore the exterior of this place!]

[Rika is going to check the walls along the side of the rooftop Samidare's body was discovered on. Are there any scratches or marks indicating that someone tried to scale the wall?]

[It's such a nice house. So nice many would hope it'd be obvious there'd be signs someone tried to climb up, but there doesn't seem to be anything on the walls...

...hm?

There's an interesting structure attached to a side of the mansion, from the very bottom to the rooftop, formed with horizontal bars and a framework of wood. Some vines and plants snake all over it.

This, Rika, is called a trellis.]

[Oho...Rika takes a look at the trellis with interest, and puts her foot on the closest bar to see how much weight it can handle. While she does so, she looks to Edelgard and Makoto.]

...can one of you stand on this as well? Samidare and I were close to the same weight, so it might be a good idea to see how much these can support.

[Her investigations led her this way too.]

I can try as well.

[Feel free to put your foot on it, Rika, certainly. Even when she applies her full weight on it, she'll find it can handle her weight. Good!]

[Edelgard does a much more thorough check of the surrounding area, particularly looking for evidence that might have been tossed aside in the bushes or signs that the dirt had been disturbed or dug up.]

[The bushes seem to contain no surprises of the sort! Checking so thoroughly can make her certain she didn't miss anything, that's for sure.

The dirt, though...at some point she'll encounter Suga, who has been checking the soil right beside the mansion, so close to it it's being shaded by it all. It's obvious this is where a nice garden is supposed to be at, the sort that'd have colorful flowers and decorative bushes. Right now it's barren, and that's why...

...why you both manage to see something imprinted on the soil. To be more precise, it seems like a group of three prints together -- two to the back and closer to the wall, one to the front and approximately a meter away from the others.

Edelgard, which one will you check?

[ Makoto can't quite keep the somberness off his face. Not that he'd really spoken with Sami, but he remembers her profile enough to know she was still just a kid. He knew it was probably going to happen to someone, but part of him had still been holding out the hope that they could all resist this.

At Edelgard's question, he nods numbly. Fists clenched, he's going to try not to get upset at how they can both be so calm about this right now. He pushes all that down for the moment, because the least they can do for Sami is try not to punish the wrong person for her murder. Really, he needs a cigarette.

Will he find anything on the ground if he walks the perimeter carefully? ]

[ ooc: took me forever trying to parse where this should go so here it is /sobbing forever ]

[Looks like there's nothing to be found at the ground -- at least that wasn't found by Suga and Edelgard. However! During his search of the perimeter, he'll indeed find Rika and Yor investigating the trellis.

While he's approaching if he looks towards it he'll be able to notice something's odd about the trellis. Perhaps it's the distance what'd allow him to see that some parts of the trellis look...strange.

No way of finding out further while you're standing on the ground, though!]

[She points at the path leading through the hedges, which she is investigating up thread so mods no need to double dip on this.]

I agree. Samidare had to be placed on the rooftop somehow, so more likely than not the culprit left evidence nearby.

[Rika is equally calm in regards to the new situation: the chances of a miracle where no one got killed occurring were extremely low, if not impossible. She has no delusions about this world.]

Indeed. Wherever she died, it certainly wasn't the roof of all places, maybe we can find some form of evidence that'll lead us to where the killing actually took place.

[And why the kitchen was barricaded like that... It's all suspicious.]
