[ Well...you can't get into the palace kitchens because there's a blockade in the doorway of kitchen furniture. So much for a good morning? ]

[ Well that's weird and now he's suspicious. Are there any gaps in the furniture that he might be able to see through before he starts testing how strong this blockade is?

[Running into Makoto at the kitchens, she furrows her brow. She absolutely does sneak up on him, get fucked little man.]

Something's blocking the door?

...There aren't any other entrances to this kitchen are there?

[There are gaps in the furniture, and from what Makoto can see the kitchen looks... just fine actually. The blockade is made of chairs and a table so it's not overly sturdy. There is also a gap at the bottom that's big enough for them to crawl through (one at a time), if they really feel like checking it out.

Also no other entrances, nope!]

[ Seeing as how she doesn't look like she's about to stab him, the yell is cut short. And he'll absolutely be carrying on like he didn't just jump out of skin, hand over his heart. ]

[ Queue Makoto crouching down to that gap and peering through. His face says he really doesn't want to go in there. ]

No, this is the only way in as far as I know.
But... I think I can probably fit through here. What do you think?

There doesn't seem to be much out in the open but someone has to have blockaded it for a reason.

I'm smaller, I'll go and dismantle the barricade from the other side and let you in. You and Rika can watch my back and be prepared to get help if need be.

[Saying this, she crouches down and begins to crawl through the barricade, leaving it up to Makoto and Rika whether they listen to her. What does she find?]

The kitchen, which looks mostly untouched except for how the tables and chairs were moved to make the blockade. There's not really anything off about this place otherwise, which probably makes it that much weirder but at least there isn't a monster waiting to eat your face or something?]

Well, it seems largely empty. I'll dismantle the barricade now, give me a moment.

[She gets to work dismantling the barricade. Still, she'll have to look around the area further. Perhaps there's something hidden in one of the drawers or ovens?]

[ Don't mind him waiting on the other side, helping once he's able to. Also queue, cue, I just woke up and you saw nothing. ]

[ There's nothing hidden in the drawers, ovens, or anywhere else. With two people they'll have been able to do a thorough search before the announcement went out, and everything is in order here. ]

[Rika can't physically do much about this blockade, but she does want to observe how heavy the involved furniture is in case it becomes relevant.]

I have to agree...people don't block doors with furniture unless they're trying to keep people out. Something must be in there...

[Which given Rika's one of the smaller folks here...she's gonna do some inspection of what's in there.]

[It takes no more than one glance to see this blockade is full of lighter furniture. A kitchen table placed on the doorway, with chairs both below and above it. The table may be the heaviest piece of furniture on this blockade, but in general the chairs that compose it are easy to lift]

[Given Rika is small enough to do so easily, she's going to crawl past the blockade into the kitchen. What will she find?]
