Good Morning. Did you sleep well? It certainly feels like you have, perhaps too well, even for those who don't normally sleep. Maybe that's to be expected in this fairy tale, maybe it was only a matter of time.

[Well, there's a lot of baked goods as usual but nothing actually weird or off here, so searching elsewhere might be a better option if he's body searching!]

[Good, otherwise he would've gone for a murderer's eyes.

The boutique isn't far away. He'll check there.]

[Well, the boutique is also looking pretty untouched. However, since he was outside on the roads, he might have caught a flash of red high up somewhere, on one of the houses between the boutique and the general store.]

[It begins.

The parrot flies in the direction of the red.

What does he find?]

[Well, when Pericles gets closer to the house in question, it'll become more apparent that what he saw was actually the light fluttering of a red cloth drooping down from the gutter as it dances merrily in the wind.

Looks like whatever it belongs to is chilling on the rooftop.]

Hmm...

[A number of people usually wear this color, but to find out for sure...

Can the parrot fly to the rooftop? Or does he need to go inside and take the stairs? Either way, he's going to get on this roof.]

[He can't quite fly to the rooftop, no. But there is a trellis with horizonal slats affixed to the house's exterior that's tall enough to reach the roof. There's no stairs leading to the rooftop from the inside of the house either way.]

[Well, that's...difficult, but if he can work with it, he will.

He flies as high as he can, before climbing the rest of the way using the trellis.

What does he find?]

[He finds... well, a large red bundle of cloth that's partially in the gutter. The small portion of the fabric dangling over the side of the roof explains what he saw from the boutique, but if he moves closer it's readily apparent that some rope is also wrapped about the entire thing, keeping most of it nice and compact. Perhaps then, the scene would simply be strange and not worrying, if not for the sneakers that stick out from one end of the bundle.

What will you do, Pericles?]

How unfortunate.

[He said, without an ounce of sympathy in his tone.

He'll flutter to the rope, and cut it with his talons. Then, he'll move the cloth off the victim's front.

Who didn't make it past the first week?]

[faentasy]

[The ropes aren't quite thin enough to be cut through, but he'll be able to loosen it enough to shift the cloth and expose whatever is underneath. And once that is out of the way, there can be no doubt that this is a someone rather than a something.

Or rather, this was someone.

Contrasting wildly against the vivacious hue of the red fabric, their green blazer and white uniform shirt only serves to highlight the dark band of bruising and the scratches that stretch across their pale neck. Brown eyes once bright with the light of life now stare blankly upwards, glassy and unseeing as the wind lightly ruffles the bangs around their face. While they were ever so energetic and lively, now it's almost like their frailty has been put on display, as their small body lies cold, stiff and completely motionless within the cocoon of crimson cloth.

At least one girl's wish will remain unfulfilled here now.

[That...that, the parrot actually does find unfortunate. He hadn't talked to her much, but he at least expected her to make it a bit longer, considering how she acted at the meeting. Kinda sad, really...

No matter. A body is a body, and it means they're going to have to find out who did it.
