[There are no more verbal rejoinders from Jack, who has presumably moved his attention for now to his original mission -- as overly idealistic as it may seem under these conditions, he nevertheless moves with purpose -- but Norton does get a nod for his trouble, serious and sedate before Jack too turns away.
