EPILOGUE
Epilogue
After all is said and done, in the wake of the void and sprinting through one final door.
You come out into light. Sunlight actually, a backyard in what appears to be a typical suburban town, if you're familiar with those. The sun shines cheerfully overheard, blissfully unaware of what everyone has went through. And this is everyone, as faces you haven't seen in weeks tumble out in one pile from a basement door.
Happy Saturday, everyone.
There's plenty of reunions and catching up to do, but you've utterly left Aira Niluc behind you after seven long weeks. And through the window of the house which looks like it has seen a better seen better days is one wall mural that reads "And they all lived Happily Ever After".
[[ Happy Golden End everyone, you've earned it! There's still the matter of sorting out where to next, but everyone is whole and alive and without button eyes. Using the knowledge from the object Phil had and the beldam's magic, they can also now world hop only one side effect...the portal that opens to everyone else's worlds here? Is made entirely of pixie dust. Everyone's powers will also restore fully over the course of the next few hours. ]]

But hey, she never went and showed herself like that to me! And I'm a musician as you know, not a magician. I wonder if B knew? She's who's fault it is, not me. [ He doesn't sound offended at all but this is how he is, forever looking to duck as much responsibility as he can. Your mastermind for 7 weeks, everyone. ]

[This sounds like something for when he's more awake, or for when they aren't surrounded by prying ears or prattling mouths, or just for a better setting with a glass of wine or two. Jack's not picky; there's plenty of time for battle stories, for now.]
You know, she seemed real wary of you! Ferry, that is. She was telling the dead left and right about you tattling on her and whatnot, but it sounds like she was the one with the looser tongue...? [then again, he knows very well that a loose tongue isn't a sign of lesser plotting abilities, go figure] The Beldam does seem exceptionally fond of insects, so I'm not surprised she made such a choice...
Unless you are secretly also an insect of some sort?
[That's a real tease, Jack peering curiously over now that he has a better vantage point. He's actually looking at the eye? Do bugs just regrow eyes, is that a thing.]

[ Hamelin is violent yes but why be violent when you can go to the manager. ]
I told you, I'd be a mouse if anything! [ As for the looking he just winks since he can do that properly now. ]

[Jack kind of completely failed to find Hamelin threatening but considering the level of bias at work here he might be forgiven for that!! Also really, when he spoke to Ferry she seemed much more annoyed than anything... her spite was real but also at the time it was tiny and hilarious.
He thinks about that for a moment.]
... I'm kind of glad she only held a little bit of a grudge...
[Having a whole-ass hungry hungry caterpillar specifically mad at him while slinging JRPG attacks would have been scary. Or if she was he didn't notice; too busy hollering and running. The perks of chaos and adrenaline...?]
A-ha, but now you're a two-eyed mouse? A shame; I was looking forward to matching just a little more.
[I can't believe Hamelin's just been winking with one eye this entire time.]

Matching? We match now more than before!

--Well, I suppose you're right? At the end of the day... [one hand wanders up to his left eye, taps under it twice; he splays his fingers loosely over it and winks with the other] ... there are many things that may be lost and then found on both sides.
There is little enough that is permanent in Aira Niluc, it seems.
[Not even the world itself; though the graveyard dimension really was a whole different beast.]
That second eye... Not one of those terrible button eyes, I hope.

Not anymore, at least. But—we're not in Aira Niluc now, huh? That's probably not a conversation to have with so many critters 'round, though. [ There'll be those who ask, but Hamelin knows better, just like he knows how to dip into the darkness that will always be part of him like a stain that's been set in too long. He holds no ill will towards anyone here, but in a way, his talks with Jack have beem more truthful than most. ]
