Epilogue

After all is said and done, in the wake of the void and sprinting through one final door.

You come out into light. Sunlight actually, a backyard in what appears to be a typical suburban town, if you're familiar with those. The sun shines cheerfully overheard, blissfully unaware of what everyone has went through. And this is everyone, as faces you haven't seen in weeks tumble out in one pile from a basement door.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

There's plenty of reunions and catching up to do, but you've utterly left Aira Niluc behind you after seven long weeks. And through the window of the house which looks like it has seen a better seen better days is one wall mural that reads "And they all lived Happily Ever After".

Yes. He had told me he had a mission from Hamelin, but I died before I could help him at all... He kept giving us as much information about the living side as possible, and we were worried it would only get harder with how many people betrayed his trust including...

He was very worried about how to handle that, ja. Kids like him aren't really cut out for this sort of thing.

He did well, though. He chose to continue trusting people - but I'm sure you all figured that one out, ja?

He's from a peaceful life, so I'm sure it was tough on him in more ways than one.

...Yes, we did. It was surprising, but - we were grateful for it. I'm glad he was able to get so much support right to the end.

Umm... are you planning to return home after all of this?

I am, ja. I do have two daughters I owe quite the apology to for vanishing for so long!

Ja, I do! Their names are Droite and Gauche!

What are they like? They aren't too young, are they?

[Unsupervised children for so long could be horrible!!]

They're sixteen, so they can handle themselves just fine without me around. I'm not particularly worried about them - they're very capable fighters and they're certainly clever enough to be careful until I can return!

[But since Yor has asked!!]

Gauche is rather serious and stoic, she has a hard time expressing herself! She's very dedicated and careful, and she's certainly the most reliable of the three of us! Despite her hard exterior, she's a very kind person, and she's very fond of cute things.

Her sister is the opposite! She's very loud and free-spirited, and she quite fond of joking around and never taking anything seriously. She always does come through in the end, however! She may be a bit rash, but she's always the first to jump in whenever someone needs help.

The two of them are inseparable; I'm very lucky to have them in my life.

I see - I'm glad they can take care of themselves! It's almost too bad everything's gone, or you could have brought back a cute souvenir.

This one's rather valuable to me as well, since it is what I was tasked with getting when I was dragged into the mirror earlier.

[The Beldam may have stolen some of his energy or whatever but he wins in the end!!!!!]

Anya likes spy stories and things like that. It's always so nice to see them happy over a special gift, isn't it?
