Epilogue

After all is said and done, in the wake of the void and sprinting through one final door.

You come out into light. Sunlight actually, a backyard in what appears to be a typical suburban town, if you're familiar with those. The sun shines cheerfully overheard, blissfully unaware of what everyone has went through. And this is everyone, as faces you haven't seen in weeks tumble out in one pile from a basement door.

Happy Saturday, everyone.

There's plenty of reunions and catching up to do, but you've utterly left Aira Niluc behind you after seven long weeks. And through the window of the house which looks like it has seen a better seen better days is one wall mural that reads "And they all lived Happily Ever After".

[He's gonna chalk this up to their near-death experience scrambling his common sense afterwards, because he really doesn't have any other excuse for picking Suga up and tossing HIM over his shoulder with a laugh.]

Yeah, just what I thought. This is a lot more convenient for me.

What, I'm not allowed to be embarrassing sometimes? I thought that was one of the perks of being a big brother.

[He doesn't know enough about siblings to dispute this.]

And I've never had any brothers either, so that makes us even.

But if you come visit, you can meet my "sister." She's a little younger than you are.

It's a long story, but we rescued her and took her in for a while since she had nowhere else to go. And since we needed some sort of plausible story about who she was and why she was there, I just started referring to her as my sister so that people would stay off our backs about it.

[Yeah, uh, most of the Salvation Front still doesn't actually know he's a mirrite, but shhh.]

I'd like to meet her sometime

[Marcus and Phil are kind people who would do something like that.]

And that's why you should come visit!

[Look their world may be falling apart but they've got an airship and there are amusement parks and resorts and casinos, an afternoon or so is fine! Just... stay away from the Empire and all should be good. Hopefully.]
