EPILOGUE
Epilogue
After all is said and done, in the wake of the void and sprinting through one final door.
You come out into light. Sunlight actually, a backyard in what appears to be a typical suburban town, if you're familiar with those. The sun shines cheerfully overheard, blissfully unaware of what everyone has went through. And this is everyone, as faces you haven't seen in weeks tumble out in one pile from a basement door.
Happy Saturday, everyone.
There's plenty of reunions and catching up to do, but you've utterly left Aira Niluc behind you after seven long weeks. And through the window of the house which looks like it has seen a better seen better days is one wall mural that reads "And they all lived Happily Ever After".
[[ Happy Golden End everyone, you've earned it! There's still the matter of sorting out where to next, but everyone is whole and alive and without button eyes. Using the knowledge from the object Phil had and the beldam's magic, they can also now world hop only one side effect...the portal that opens to everyone else's worlds here? Is made entirely of pixie dust. Everyone's powers will also restore fully over the course of the next few hours. ]]

I missed you, Yuri

Maybe mildly annoyed that they thought they needed two people versus one noncombatant with a dull sword
But not angry
I'm DEFINITELY not angry at you
Besides
Now that C-ta and Pericles are coming home with me
I extra need your help to lift that curse so I can spend a long time with them

Two...? Mm. [ She takes his other hand, too, laying their palms flat against each others' as if to push - because that's what she's going to do. ] I believe I told you once before that all humans have some form of innate magic - that makes them human, different from all else. Maybe that magic is the human soul? So many different names.
[ Her eyes flick up to him. ]
I'm going to use my magic to overwhelm and push out what's - not you. I think I can do it, I'm strong enough and I've lived long enough [ and have harbored just as much rage ] to go toe-to-toe with something as ancient and malignant as this. Our advantage here is my power is with me, from me, it's mine. While your curses are from your world, which you are removed from at the moment. Distance matters. Now I'm going to push - don't resist me. Just let everything go. Ready?
[ And once he's ready, she'll do just that. The rest is up to him. ]
Oh - and this will hurt.

He's had pain before. If this is enough to keep his friends from worrying, then he'll endure any level of it.]

[ To test the waters. She needs to forcefully inject an overwhelming amount of magic into his body to drive out the opposing curse. Unlike Melissa, who had next to no magic and thus felt almost only the most trivial pain, Suga is... different. Spiritually stronger. ]
Now.
[ It's an unexpected rush, like too much of a good thing at once. Her magic is usually gentle, precise. It's relentless now. The precision is still there and it courses through him until it can rip straight through the curse's initial seal, flooding everything in her path, crowding out everything that is not him or her.
And then, of course, she can't just let it linger in the air. Carefully, she draws it into one of the ornaments in her hair. Her only other options are his friendship bracelet and the brooch he made her, so nope.
After that she'll give him a short break unless he wants to go again immediately. Which curse did she just push out? ]
no subject
The lesser curse: his lifespan. Cutting someone's lifespan to ten years may seem worse than losing your voice, but this one was less targeted. It happened to everyone who dealt with raw glowstone - a general curse, not one tailored for him specifically.
He's sweating, but when she stops pushing, he nods. He's okay to go again.]
no subject
This next push takes longer, and she has to extend more of herself to cover all of the curse's reaches. It's a stupid, stubborn thing, so she has to be even more ruthless with the way she attacks it. Mercilessly surround all of her around the weakest parts of it, and dragging it out. It would be a lie to say she didn't take some pleasure in this.
But don't worry, it'll have a home within one of the other ornaments - at least temporarily.
By the time they're done, even she's tired, invincible heroine that she's written to be. She lets go of his hands, all parts of her that was in him withdrawing with her, and sinks to the ground. Just a small break for this little lady. ]
I'm sorry if that was too - much? I think we've done it. How... how are you feeling?
no subject
But she is the invincible heroine, and he bites his lip so hard it bleeds until the pain finally drains out of him. He sinks to his knees with her, and opens his mouth.]
Ah...
[His eyes go wide. It is, perhaps, not the most significant of words - not really a word at all, technically. But it is the first sound he has consciously made in over a decade.
He touches his throat and tries it again.]
Ah?
[That's... his voice?]
no subject
Ah... what a nice sound.
[ Someone else will have to check him over, because she's just going to flop onto her back for a bit. Please don't step on her while rushing to him. ]
no subject
Hey!
[ well he's running over to help them. his opinion of yuri may not be the best but what if something's wrong with both of them? ]
Koutarou, Yuri--do you need help?!
no subject
[Ah. His first real word and it's his boyfriend's name, that's appropriate.]
no subject
[ he didn't even notice. too busy fussing over the two of them. ]

Ah, what a sweet couple.
Aka feel free to poke here assuming post-cure and C-ta celebration.]

Yor-nee! Yor-nee!
[It's not a familiar voice that calls out to her, but there's only one person who calls her that, is there?]
no subject
Yes?

Do you notice anything different?
